Terpsichore is the muse of choral dance and song. Erato is the muse of love poetry. Polyhymnia is the muse of sacred poetry. Urania is the muse of astronomy. Thalia is the muse of comedy.

Who was the Titan of light?
    Hyperion. Hyperion is the father of the sun, moon and the dawn.

    Prometheus. Prometheus was considered the wisest Titan. His name means forethought, hence he is able to foretell the future. Together with his brother he gave mankind the gift of fire.

Of what was Uranus the god?
    sky. Uranus was the very first ruler of the Gods. He married his mother Gaea. The planet Uranus is named after him.

The first gods and goddesses were born from a nothingness called what?
    Chaos. Most of the time Chaos is considered a nothingness, but it is sometimes called a big black space, or the first goddess. When Chaos exploded the very first gods and goddesses were created.

Who was the Titan personifying the ocean and water?
    Okeanos. Okeanos is the father of the Okeanids which are 3,000 daughters. He is not to be confused with Poseidon. Okeanos is a personification of the Atlantic Ocean and of lakes and small bodies of water. He is the oldest Titan and one of Uranus and Gaea's sons.

What were the Fates' names?
    Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. The Fates were the goddesses who supervised fate. Clotho was the spinner, and selected thread. Lachesis was the drawer of lots, and measured thread. Atropos ended life, and cut thread a persons life strand.

Who was the male counterpart of Aphrodite?
    Eros. Eros was the god of love and desire. He would shoot his victims with a bow and arrow to make them fall in love. His Roman name is Cupid.
