Special Sub-Topic: The Bride of the Living Dummy

Where was Slappy found?

An alley. The possessed ventriloquist dummy was named Slappy. He was found in a dark alleyway, inside a dummy case, by an innocent man. Slappy then forced the man to do whatever Slappy ordered.

How were Jillian and Katie related?
They were sisters. Jillian was fourteen, and Katie was eight. Jillian did babysit Katie a lot in the episode, but they were sisters. They shared a bedroom. Mary-Ellen also shared a bedroom with them, because Katie said that she was too scared to sleep in the basement.

How did Jillian get possession of Slappy?
Jimmie O'James sent him to her. That night, after Jillian and her sister saw Jimmie O'James and Slappy's show, Jillian got a package in the mail from Jimmie. It was Slappy inside the package, with a note included, saying that Jimmie wanted Slappy to live with Jillian.

What was Jillian's dad building in the basement?
Birdhouses. He told Jillian that "there is only one more to go before we hit the world record". Apparently he was trying to make the world record for making the most birdhouses - if you look on the shelf behind him, there were hundreds of birdhouses behind him.

Who said "Mary-Ellen's gone! She was right here beside me, and now she's gone!"?
Katie. She said this after they saw Slappy and Jimmie perform. Katie had accidentally left Mary-Ellen in her chair. Katie seemed very attached, and even afraid, of her doll, Mary-Ellen. She claimed if she ever let anything bad happen to Mary-Ellen, that Mary-Ellen would hurt her. Of course, Mary-Ellen was just a doll, so Jillian just assumed that Katie had an overactive imagination. Katie was played by actress and singer, Sophie Bennett, who rose to stardom a few years later by starring as Stevie Lake in the Australian television series, "The Saddle Club".

What disappeared from Mrs. Zinman's jewelery box?
A ring. Mrs. Zinman's wedding ring disappeared the day after Jillian got Slappy in the mail. Mrs. Zinman asked Jillian and Katie if they took it, and they both said they didn't. Jillian grew more uneasy about having Slappy in the house after that, because she started to suspect that he was more than just a dummy.

When Jillian tried to take Slappy back to Jimmie O'James, she saw a lot of broken doll heads. What did Jimmy say those heads were?
Slappy's rivals. Jimmy sounded very frightened when he told Jillian that the broken doll heads were Slappy's rivals. He then went on to tell Jillian that Slappy was very powerful and that Slappy REQUESTED to live at Jillian's house.

Why did Harrison go up into the bathroom?
He felt sick. Harrison ate too much when he was watching scary movies with Katie, so he went upstairs to vomit in the toilet. However, while he was up there, Slappy locked him inside the bathroom, so Slappy could have Katie and Mary-Ellen all to himself without any trouble from Harrison.

Where did the fight sequence between Slappy and Mary-Ellen take place?
In the basement. Slappy told Mary-Ellen that he didn't want her for a bride, but Katie. So they got in a fight. While they were fighting, Jillian turned on her dad's table saw, so Slappy and Mary-Ellen were both chopped in two.

What happened to Slappy's spirit by the end of the episode?
He went into Harrison's body. Jillian, Katie, and their parents went up to the bathroom to unlock it for Harrison. But when they found him, his eyes had been replaced with Slappy's evil eyes and he said "Harrison doesn't live here anymore". Right after he said that, the screen faded to black and the credits began to roll, leaving it up to one's imagination to figure out what happened.
