Hatter Madigan. He is an expert bladesman, owning several items, including a top hat, which transform into deadly blades. As the protector of Queen Genevieve, he was left with a promise he made to the queen - to keep Alyss safe in our world until she was old enough to return. That seems to be a rather difficult task, however, when he loses her in the pool of tears.

I killed my sister, who was the Queen of Wonderland, to get onto the throne, not to mention trying to kill my own niece! Who am I?

Redd Heart. Redd is the kind of Aunt that you don't want to have - bloodthirsty, hateful and a believer in black imagination, the worst imagination it is possible to have. So when she returns to Wonderland and takes over the entire Queendom, everyone is in danger, especially Alyss.

I am a royal tutor and often talk to myself. I am incredibly clever and have wonderful hearing. Who am I?

Bibwit Harte. A very clever Charles Dodgson realised that Bibwit Harte is an anagram of 'White Rabbit'. He is constantly talking to himself but is determined to ensure that Alyss does not turn into a woman like her Aunt Redd. With super-sensitive hearing and superior intelligence, Bibwit is still a valuable member of the Alyssians, even though he cannot fight.

I am one of Redd's top assassins and have to be killed nine times before I die. I am an enemy of Dodge Anders, after killing his father. Who am I?

The Cat. He kills Sir Justice Anders ruthlessly after sneaking into the palace disguised as a 'cute' kitten. Deadly and with only 9 lives, the Cat is not someone you would like to come across in an alley on a dark night.

I am the commander of the royal army and was based on Tweedledee and Tweedledum from the novel by Lewis Caroll because of my ability to split into two people. Who am I?

General Doppelgänger. As the commander of the royal army, the general is not a figure of fun, but in the classic fairytale, he was represented as Tweedledee and Tweedledum. For a skilled millitary man who is able to split into several versions of himself, is that totally appropriate?

Some may call me pompous, but I believe that, as a member of such a prestigious family, I am entitled to more than others. I plan to marry the Princess, I have a large rear end and always wear a wig. Who am I?

Jack of Diamonds. Jack of Diamonds is a pompous youngster with the largest rear end in Wonderland. He wishes to marry Alyss in order to become King, and get more control. By wearing a wig, he feels more commanding and mature, even when Redd turned his wig into a monster in part 3 of the book.

I was killed by my sister on my daughter's seventh birthday but managed to help her escape from my sister before she could also be killed. Who am I?

Genevieve Heart. Genevieve is Alyss's natural mother, and although Alyss spent more than half of her life with her adoptive mother, Mrs Liddell, she still thinks of her real mother and sees her in the looking glass maze and a mirror towards the end of the book.

I befriended Alice Liddell and wrote about her so called 'previous life' in Wonderland. Who am I?

Charles Dodgson. Charles Dodgson believed Alice was making up her fantasy world, and angered her when he 'twisted' her words into utter make-believe. It was because of this that she hardly spoke to him again.
