    pennant. The Ohio flag has 5 stripes, 2 white and 3 red. These represent the roads and waterways of the state.

Who designed the Ohio flag ?
    John Eisenmann. Ohio native William H. Taft was 27th President of the U.S., Edward Tiffin was Ohio's first governor, and Salmon P. Chase was a former Ohio governor and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury during the Civil War.

What are the colors on the Ohio flag ?
    red white blue & red blue white & white red blue & white blue red & blue red white & blue white red. The blue field represents Ohio's hills and valley's. The white circle with red in the center, forms the "O" in Ohio and symbolizes the "Buckeye", Ohio's nickname.

How many stars are on the Ohio flag ?
    17 & seventeen. Ohio was the 17th state admitted to the union. A little known fact is that although Ohio had fullfilled all the requirements for statehood in 1803 Congress didn't approve it at the time, so on August 7th, 1953 Ohio reapplied for statehood and was approved by congress who made it retroactive to 1803.
