Solinari, Lunitari, and Nuitari visit him in a vision, asking him if he understands the sacrifices he will have to make and if truly wishes to be a servant of the magic. I think we all know what his answer is. :)

When Caramon and Raistlin arrive in Judith's chamber she has already been slain. Raistlin picks up the weapon to inspect it and foolishly hides it in the folds of his robes when the guards walk in. The knife is found and Raistlin is thrown into the local jail.
Later on, trying to persuade Caramon not to go and try to rescue Raistlin, Kitiara insinuates to her half-brother that she was the one who killed Judith.
