Special Sub-Topic: The Tallest Waterfall on Earth

What is the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on earth?

Angel Falls. Niagara Falls is probably the best known but it isn't the tallest. The other two (as far as I know) are figments of my imagination.

Who is given credit for discovering Angel Falls?
Jimmy Angel. He was searching for gold in Venezuela and had been told by an old prospector that there was gold in a certain river. Unfortunately he died before he could show Angel exactly where it was, so Angel decided to fly over the area the prospector had described. He found the waterfall by accident. Why the question is worded 'is given credit for' you'll find out in a later question.

In which country is the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on earth?
Venezuela. The waterfall is named Angel Falls.

Who was the first outsider believed to see the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on earth (besides the local Indians) before the official discoverer found it?
Ernesto Sanchez La Cruz. He was a Spanish explorer who reported the falls in 1910 but his spectacular story was ignored by the world.

    1910.

In which year was the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on earth 'officially' discovered?
    1933.

How far does the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on earth plunge in its first drop?
    2,648 feet.

How far do the world's tallest falls plunge in their second drop?
    564 feet.

The mountain from which the tallest waterfall on earth begins is called what?
    Mount Auyantepui.

What does the name of the tallest waterfalls on earth mean in the local Indian tongue?
Devil's Mountain. It's a bit ironic: Angel Falls come from Devil's Mountain.
