Who is the narrator of the book?

Ellie. Ellie was nominated to write all the information about their trip when they first went into Hell because they wanted a record of what they did and achieved. They also did this because none of them wanted to be forgotten.

Where did the gang find Chris?

Hiding out on his property. When they found Chris it was by accident because they were actually there to steal his parent's Mercedes. When they did find him, he told them what happened and they took him back to Hell.

Who are the original people that first went up to Hell?

Corrie, Kevin, Fi, Homer, Lee, Robyn and Eliie. Ellie and Corrie are best friends and they decided that it has been a while since they were on an adventure, so they decided to go camping. Ellie's parents wouldn't let her go unless there was a group, just to make sure they didn't get up to anything.

What car did Ellie drive them all in, to get up to Tailor's Stitch?

The Land Rover. Ellie was allowed to take the Land Rover on the condition that only she drove it. She drove it up there and realised how bad the road was and was thankful that her Dad didn't check the road otherwise he wouldn't have let her take the car.

Who does Ellie temporarily have a relationship with?

Lee. Ellie wasn't sure if she wanted to have a relationship in the middle of a war, but she did it anyway. When they broke up, Lee went off with one of the enemy called Reni and Ellie stopped talking to him for days.

What was the distraction they used to blow up a bridge which ran from Wirrawee to Cobbler's Bay?

Cattle. While Ellie and Fi drove a truck full of fuel from Tozzer's to the bridge, Lee and Homer stayed behind some cattle ready. Ellie and Fi parked the truck underneath the bridge and lit the fuse when they heard the cattle coming. Homer and Lee hissed at the cattle to make them stampede at the soldiers.

Who was shot in the back?

Corrie. The soldiers came out of nowhere and as Kevin and Corrie were running away, a soldier got off a lucky shot. Kevin offered to drive her to the hospital and was caught and tortured and then released into a work party around the district.

Where are the prisoners being kept?

The showground. The Wirrawee show was called Commemoration Day. Everyone in the district went except for Ellie and her friends because they thought they would go camping for a week; when they came home, they had been invaded.

Who is Ellie's counsellor in New Zealand?

Andrea. Each of the Ellie's friends had to see a counsellor to deal with what happened in Wirrawee. After a few months in New Zealand they were needed back in their home town to help fight in the war and they were not amused.

He is deaf. It took Ellie a while to realise that he was deaf. It wasn't until they had a snake scare and Gavin didn't move that she realised; when she did realise, she told the others.
