What is the title Clement C. Moore gave his poem?
    A Visit from Saint Nicholas. Moore wrote the poem in 1922 as a gift for his children. He transformed the legendary St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children, a stern figure in dark robes, into Santa Claus, a fairy tale character for children. Everyone who read it urged Moore to publish it. As a professor of classics at the General Theological Seminary in New York City, Moore refused to have it published, saying it was 'a mere trifle,' beneath his dignity. Someone sent the poem to an out-of-town newspaper. It was an overnight sensation and gave us the image of the fat, jolly, white-bearded Santa that became part of our American culture.
