When did the TR7 first go on sale in the UK?

    1976. Because of production problems, the UK and Europe didn't get the car until 1976 while the first cars were imported to North America in 1975.

What was the production name of the TR7?
    Bullet. All through production the TR7 was called Bullet but was changed to follow on from previous Triumph sports TR2 to TR6.

There was a limited edition TR7 with Coca-Cola branded on it what other brand did this car feature?
    Levi. There were only three cars like this built and they were finished in the Coca-Cola colours of red with large white stripes along the sides across the bonnet, and featured a large Coca-Cola emblem. The interior was trimmed in blue denim, with authentic "pockets" in the door panels and sun visors.

There was a slot car model TR7 that had a super hero sticker on it what was the super hero?
    Spider-Man. It was produced by scalextrix and came in red or blue.

Approximately how many TR7 were built?
    115000. There were more TR7's built than any other TR model.

Triumph designed a longer wheelbase 2+2 hatchback version of the TR7 that never went into production what was it called?
    Lynx. The Lynx should have been ready in 1979 but was killed of by Triumph's parent company British Leyland because of financial problems.

What was the top speed of the original 4 speed European spec TR7?
    112mph. This was faster than the 108mph of the US spec car due to tighter emission regulations in America.

Where was the TR7 originally built?
    Speke. It was originally built in Speke but production was moved to Canley and then to Solihull because of strikes and quality control issues and to protect the distribution network in North America.

Who designed the TR7?
    Harris Mann. Karmann & Michelotti designed other TR's and Graham Robson is a Triumph historian.

What is the engine capacity of the standard TR7?
    1998cc. The TR7 engine was also used in the Triumph Dolomite, the Saab 99 and in V8 form the Triumph Stag.
