    Tuck. It all made sense to her after that.

What did Jesse want Winnie to do at the end?
    drink the spring water. He wanted to have a lifetime of fun with her, so he bottled some spring water and gave it to her.

Who did Winnie think was "the dearest of all" the Tucks?
    Tuck. Even dearer to her than Jesse.

Why did Mae kill the man?
    because he was going to tell everyone about the spring. He threatened to bottle it up and sell it to people.

How did Winnie help Mae out of jail?
    she went in and took her place. The police and her parents were furious when they found out, but there was nothing that they could do about it then.

What did Winnie do with the spring water Jesse gave her?
    she poured it on the toad. When the Tucks came back, they ran across the toad and made some comment like "Must think it's going to live forever."
