    idaho montana & montana idaho. Montana is the state furthest west that's on the eastern side of the Continental Divide.

What state's border claims territory in 4 of the 5 Great Lakes?
    Michigan. It claims about half of Lakes Superior, Michigan (surprise), Huron, and just a tiny bit of Lake Erie.

What state's borders are NOT made of only straight lines?
    New Mexico. Part of the NM-Texas border is formed by the Rio Grande.

What state's southern border is formed by a river of the same name?
    Ohio. Texas' southern border is the Rio Grande, Oklahoma's is the Red River, and Maryland's is the Potomac River.

    Nevada Utah Oregon & Nevada Oregon Utah & Utah Nevada Oregon & Utah Oregon Nevada & Oregon Nevada Utah & Oregon Utah Nevada. Only in the west, where the states are big enough to span great distances.

What two Canadian provinces only border 1 US State?
    Alberta New Brunswick & New Brunswick Alberta. Betcha some of you said 'Yukon'. However, it's not a province, but a territory.

What Canadian province borders the most US States?
    Ontario. It borders 5: Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. Quebec and BC tie at 4 (Q: New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, {Maine;} BC: Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana). Newfoundland does not border the US.

Of the 48 contiguous states, which is the furthest north ?
    Minnesota. Part of a peninsula in Lake of the Woods is part of Minnesota, even though land access to it is only from Manitoba, Canada. Point Roberts, WA, is {similar;} its only land access is through British Columbia, Canada.

    Missouri & Tennessee. Colorado comes close with 6 (or 7, if you count Arizona).

    Maine. All the others border two.

    Delaware and Pennsylvania. Much of Delaware's border with Pennsylvania.

Which state's border isn't defined by the Missouri River at all?
    North Dakota.

Which of the 48 contiguous states is 3rd-furthest south?
    Louisiana. The Mississippi River Delta is the southern-most point in Lousisana. Florida is furthest, Texas is 2nd, and California ia 10th (!), behind Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, New Mexico, and South Carolina.

Starting from Miami, FL, and going straight north, where would you cross the Canadian border?
    In Lake Erie, NNW of Erie, PA. You'd travel through the Atlantic first, then make landfall, then cut through Pennsylvania before crossing the border.
