    Dave Thomas' daughter Melinda. Melinda's siblings had trouble saying her name when they were young. It would come out Wenda, which eventually became Wendy.

Only one item has been dropped from the original 1969 menu. What is it?
    Sugar Cream Pie. Dave dropped the pies from the menu because he said he was eating more of them than he was selling.

According to Wendy's folklore, why are their hamburgers square?
    They don't cut corners. Dave was asked about his square patties in an interview, and he thought of the slogan off the top of his head.

    Classic Home Run - 1 pound hamburger.

    35 cents. It was a simpler, less expensive time!

    Garden Salad Bar. The Salad Bar was a part of Wendy's menu for over 10 years. As America's buying habits changed, and pre-made salads became more popular, the Salad Bar became a thing of the past.

    1980. The original chicken sandwich has expanded into an entire chicken menu. Besides the chicken sandwich, you can get a spicy chicken sandwich, a grilled chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets, salads with chicken, and starting in mid-2003, chicken strips.

    Quality is our Recipe. Quality Is Our Recipe can be found printed above Wendy's head on all of their cups, lids, bowls, etc.
