Which Irish city is home to the historic Treaty Stone?

    Limerick. The Treaty Stone, Limerick's most famous landmark, can be found next to King John's Castle. The stone is said to be the one on which the Treaty of Limerick was signed in 1691.

If you stepped off a train in Limerick Junction, in which county would you be?
    Tipperary. As well as being a railway junction, the village of Limerick Junction is also famous for horseracing.

Where would you find the Old Head of Kinsale?
    Cork. In 1915 the Lusitania was torpedoed, off the Head of Kinsale, with a loss of 1,198 lives, 761 people were saved. The Old Head now boasts a stunning golf course.

On which county's coast is the Giant's Causeway located?
    Antrim. The Giant's Causeway is comprised of over forty thousand hexagonal shaped basalt columns that have survived over sixty million years.

Where would you find Bunratty Castle and Folk Park?
    Clare. Although Bunratty Castle is only eight miles from Limerick city, it is in County Clare. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park are Ireland's leading tourist attraction. The castle was built in 1425. Medieval banquets are held there every night. The folk park recreates 19th century Ireland, features include a village street, farmhouses, a watermill, a forge and a church.

Samson and Goliath, Harland and Wolff's cranes are located in which Irish town or city?
    Belfast. The twin cranes nicknamed 'Samson and Goliath' tower over the Harland and Wolff shipyard in East Belfast and are visible throughout most of the city.

Which Irish city would you need to visit to view the Book of Kells?
    Dublin. The Book of Kells is on display in the Old Library in Trinity College, Dublin. The book was written around 800AD and is believed to have been written by monks in the scriptorium at Iona.

Where is Dunluce Castle located?
    Antrim. The ruins of Dunluce Castle stand on a 100ft high basalt stack with a sea cave underneath. The castle is located on the edge of the cliff, so close in fact that during a dinner in 1639 part of the kitchens fell into the sea, killing many of the kitchen staff.

Where would you find the Japanese Gardens and National Stud?
    Kildare. The 958 acre, 288 box, National Stud aim is to improve the quality of the bloodstock. In the Japanese Gardens the 'Life of Man' is depicted through the landscape of the gardens, which were created between 1906 and 1910.

Which Irish county is home to the Cliffs of Moher?
    Clare. The Cliffs are 8km long and 214m high. O'Brien's Tower, built in 1835, is an excellent vantage point for viewing the cliffs.

In which county is Glendalough located?
    Wicklow. Glendalough, means 'Glen of the Two Lakes', and was founded by St. Kevin.

On the streets of which Irish city is Bloomsday re-enacted each year?
    Dublin. Each year on the sixteenth of June, fans of James Joyce's Ulysses follow the progress of Leopold Bloom's day through the streets AND pubs of Dublin.

In which city would you find Reginald's Tower?
    Waterford. Reginald's Tower has stood on Waterford's quays for more than a thousand years and is the oldest urban civic building in the country.

Which city has a famous Spanish Arch?
    Galway. The Spanish Arch is almost all that remains of the old city walls. Originally known as Ceann an Bhalla (Head of the Wall) it is now known as the Spanish Arch. This title refers to the Spanish galleons that often docked under the arch.

Where would you find the Mussenden Temple?
    Derry. The Temple, inspired by the Tivoli Temple of Vesta, was built by the Earl of Bristol and Bishop of Derry in the grounds of Downhill Castle. The cliff on which the Temple is built is eroding and the National Trust is examining ways to save the building.

In which county is Malin Head?
    Donegal. Malin Head is Ireland's most northernmost point. Malin Head is located at latitude 55 27 north.

Where would you find Mizen Head?
    Cork. Mizen Head is Ireland's southernmost point at latitude 51 27 north. In a northern and southern direction, the maximum length of Ireland is 486 km (302 miles).

Where is Newgrange?
    Meath. Newgrange is a Megalithic Passage Tomb and was built about 3200 BC. The passage is built in such a way that the winter solstice illuminates the passage and chamber. The light shines in for about a quarter of an hour each morning from 19 to 23 December.

In which Irish county were some of the scenes for 'Braveheart' filmed?
    Kildare. Many of the scenes were filmed in the Curragh. The extras for the battle scenes were drawn from the FCA, Ireland's reserve defence force.

In which Irish city would you visit the Hunt Museum?
    Limerick. The collection, which has been on display in the University of Limerick since 1976, recently moved to the refurbished Old Custom House. The collection consists of over two thousand pieces, ranging from the Neolithic era to the twentieth century. John and Gertrude Hunt put the collection together.

The beaches of which Irish county are seen in 'Saving Private Ryan'?
    Wexford. Filming of the movie moved from the UK to Ireland after the British Ministry of Defence failed to provide soldiers to act as extras in the film. The FCA in Ireland stepped in again!!

Where is Scrabo Tower located?
    Down. Scrabo Tower is situated at the head of Strangford Lough overlooking Newtownards. It was built in 1857, as a memorial to the Third Marquis of Londonderry.

Where in Ireland would you find the Burren?
    Clare. The limestone covered Burren occupies about 300 square kilometres of northwest Clare. Oliver Cromwell described it as 'a barren place with not enough water to drown a man, not a tree to hang him from, or enough soil to bury him in'.

Which county produces the famous Belleek china?
    Fermanagh. The pottery comes from a village of the same name. Pottery has been made there since the 1850's.

Finally, in which county would you find Glenstal Abbey?
    Limerick. The Abbey is situated about twelve miles from Limerick city, just outside a village called Murroe. Once the home of the local British landowners, it is now a Benedictine monastery and a boys' boarding school. The monks are renowned for their Gregorian Chant and in 1995 they were the interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest!!
