    under a white rock. Ben Gunn made the coracle himself, and though it was quite lop-sided, it did the job when Jim had to get to the Hispaniola.

Where did O'Brien stab Israel Hands?
    the thigh. Israel Hands and O'Brien were the last two left aboard the Hispaniola after the others had gone ashore Treasure Island. In his drunken wrath, Israel killed O'Brien--but not before O'Brien stabbed him in the leg.

Allardyce, one of Flint's unfortunate seamen, took Morgan's ______ ashore with him before he died.
    knife. Not only had Allardyce taken Morgan's knife, but he also owed him money. The pirates knew the bones belonged to Allardyce because of its yellow hair.

In what month does Black Dog first make his appearance?
    January. It was an early morning in January when Black Dog came into the story. Captain Bill wasn't at the inn at the time that Black Dog showed up, so Black Dog decided to wait around for him. When Captain Bill returned, he met with the unpleasant surprise.

Squire claimed that Blackbeard "was a child" compared to whom?
    Flint. Squire also claimed that Flint was the most bloodthirsty pirate who ever sailed, and that the Spaniards were terribly afraid of him.

Long John lost his leg during the same broadside as when Pew lost his eyes.
    true. Flint was the captain then, and Long John Silver was the quarter-master.

Near the end of the story, three remaining mutineers were marooned on the island to the "huge glee" of whom?
    Ben Gunn. Two of the marooned pirates were Tom Morgan and Dick Johnson. The book doesn't say who the third maroon was.

Long John Silver's wife was of what race?
    Black. The story refers to Mrs. Silver as Long John's "old Negress", which is far from politically correct.
