1. 1940. This was Vincent's very first horror film with him in the lead role. It was a sequel to the 1933 original that starred Claude Rains.

2. 1946. This was Vincent's first solo starring role in a film and he did wonderfully. He plays a psychiatrist who kills his wife and who has to take care of the one person who saw him do it.

5. 1953. This was the film that cemented Vincent in horror films forever. He plays sculptor Henry Jarrod, a man who is betrayed by his business partner. Jarrod's place is set on fire. He is alive but now insane.

6. 1956. With his cast of thousands, Cecil B. DeMille remade one of his silent movies of the 20's. Vincent has a small role as Baka the master builder. Charlton Heston has the lead role, along with Yul Brynner.

10. 1961. This is the second installment of the Price/Poe/Corman films. Vincent plays Nicholas Medina, a man who just recently lost his wife, Elizabeth.

11. 1962. The third movie in the series, it is a trilogy of stories by Poe beginning with "Morella" and ending with "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar".

12. 1963. This fourth movie is a comedy. It features Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre. It also has a young Jack Nicholson. Vincent plays Dr. Craven, Boris Dr. Scarabus, and Peter plays Dr. Bedlo - I think I gave it away.

14. This is yet ANOTHER film released in 1963--Vinnie had a big year in 1963 with 7 movies released that year alone. This is also a comedy with the Titans of Terror: Vincent, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff. This time Vincent is Waldo Trumbull, an undertaker who needs to stir up some business before his landlord kicks him out because he hasn't paid the rent for a year. Basil Rathbone also stars as Mr. Black.

15. 1964. This film is the next in the Poe series. Vincent plays Prince Prospero in a film that many consider to be the best of the series. I disagree - but that's just my humble opinion. It is set in 1400's Italy with the Plague all around.

16. 1965. The final film of the Poe series. After 8 films, all but one starring Price, Roger Corman decided to move on. But not before he made the best one. Vincent is Verden Fell, a man who again has a dead wife, and Elizabeth Shepherd plays Rowena, a lady who bears a striking resemblance to Verden's first wife.

17. 1968. Matthew Hopkins, Witchfinder General. This was one of Vincent's most gruesome films to date, it tells the life story of one Matthew Hopkins, a man who proclaimed himself to be a witchfinder in the name of God. He killed dozens of women who were accused of being witches. The US release title slaps on the title of a poem by Poe for some reason.

18. 1971. A doctor seeks revenge on the nine doctors who could not save his dear departed Victoria's life. Again, Vincent is a grieving husband. Nine of the ten doctors die by nine of the ten plagues of Exodus, with the worst one being preserved for the head doctor.

19. 1973. Vincent's magnum opus before he retreated to the theater for a while, he portrays Edward Lionheart, a man who is out to get every critic who ever gave him a bad review.
