Rumdoodle is a mountain featured in a Compton Mackenzie novel. "The Old Man of Lochnagar" is a children's book written by HRH Prince of Wales and The Old Man of Hoy is a Scottish Sea Stack. The Old Man of Coniston is a real mountain with many over-friendly sheep on its peak!

The poem "Daffodils" by William Wordsworth was written about these beautiful yellow trumpet-like flowers that can still be seen each spring in the Lake District.
