First appeared in "Adventure Comics" #40 (July 1939). His only weapon was as gas gun, which fired various forms of anesthetics and sedatives that rendered his victims unconscious or at least immobile.
2. When this person donned his helmet, he became endowed with vast magical abilities, and was known as Doctor Fate. What was his real name?

Answer: Kent Nelson

First appeared in "More Fun Comics" #55 (May 1940). While wearing the helmet he became possessed by a Lord of Order, known as Nabu. He also had an amulet which gave him more abilities.

First appeared in "All-American Comics" #25 (April 1941). Dr. McNider was an actual surgical doctor before becoming a hero. He created, what he called, blackout bombs to blind his opponents with.

First appeared in "Flash Comics" #1 (January 1940). Katar was the Silver Age Hawkman who came from the planet Thanagar. Hath-Set was the one who actually killed Khufu and his lover Shiera, both of whom were reicarnated and became Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
