Crystal Ball - Rules and Game Details

Welcome to the Crystal Ball!

The secret word word will change every hour, and each player gets one initial guess per hour. The word could be any word that you'd likely find in a fairly modern and liberal dictionary (including slang, imports from other languages, cultural references, etc). All words are between 4 and 10 characters long. Plural forms (-s) are usually not selected, unless the plural form makes a new word with a new meaning. No promises though.

For the first 45 minutes of the hour, each player gets 1 blind guess. At 45 minutes past the hour, we award the winner if someone blindly guesses the word. A winner scores 1000 bonus FunTrivia points. Multiple winners all get the award.

If no one has guessed the word once the 45 minute winner-check occurs, the list of all guesses made so far is displayed and all players immediately get 5 bonus guesses. The first player to guess the word before the hour ends wins. If that player has at least 25 wins, he/she is considered a champion, and the game continues allowing the first non-champion to also guess and win before time expires.
