Sirius and Peter Pettigrew met up in a crowded street. Witnesses reported Peter accusing Sirius of betraying James and Lily, and that Sirius retaliated by blowing up the street.

Answer: Dog

Sirius is an illegal animagus, he is able to transform into a dog nicknamed Padfoot. That is how he is able to avoid detection throughout the movie. It is also how he manages to escape Azkaban.

Harry, while hiding underneath the invisibility cloak, follows Professor McGonagall and Minister of Magic, Fudge, into The Three Broomsticks, a pub in Hogsmeade. During this conversation Harry overhears how Sirius betrayed the Potters, killed Peter Pettigrew, and is Harry Potter's godfather.

Sirius reveals his side of the story about the day he was arrested. He accuses Peter of faking his own death and destroying the street. Peter transforms into a rat and runs off. He then finds a wizarding family to take him in, in order to keep an ear out for information. He is forced to show himself in the Shrieking Shack, and this is used to prove Sirius's story.

Buckbeak the hippogriff is sentenced to death for a provoked attack that occurs earlier in the movie. Harry and Hermione are able to save Buckbeak through the use of a Time Turner, a device that allows someone to travel back in time. Harry and Hermione fly Buckbeak up to the tower and Hermione casts Alohamora, a spell to unlock locks.

They fly onto the roof, now with Sirius, and handover Buckbeak to Sirius. Allowing Sirius to escape.

8. What does Sirius send to Harry at the end of the movie?

Harry's original broomstick was blown away and lost earlier in the movie. Sirius sends him a Firebolt, the best broom available. He sends a hippogriff feather with it in place of a note. This is how Harry knows who sent it.

Sadly, only Harry, Ron, Hermione, Remus, and Dumbledore know of Sirius's innocence (aside from Peter of course). They have no proof as Peter managed to escape so they are unable to help overturn his conviction. Sirius remains on the run with Buckbeak. Although, he allows himself to get sighted away from Hogwarts in order to have the Dementors removed from the school.

10. Who plays Sirius Black?

Answer: Gary Oldman

In the books Sirius was in his early 30s, but Alan Rickman was cast as Snape. Snape and Sirius attended school together, so an older actor was cast to reflect that. Other films Gary Oldman is in include, but are not limited to, "The Fifth Element", "Air Force One", and " Oppenheimer".
