Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Clot cans peel. Which instrument is this, (not to be confused with the xylophone)?

Answer: Glockenspiel

The glockenspiel is a percussion instrument much like the xylophone. However, a xylophone has wooden "keys" while the glockenspiel's are metal.
2. Hug core tea in. Which instrument is this referring to?

Answer: Accordion

Most people have seen accordions, at least on television or in pictures. Accordions are called "free-reed" instruments. Some of them have piano-like keys on the side of them. Other models have buttons instead of the keys. But both have what are called bellows. Bellows are the baglike parts in the middle that hold the air.
3. You fony yum. Which baritone-like instrument is it?

Answer: Euphonium

The euphonium is a brass instrument. It is very similar to the baritone. Basically, it looks like a mini tuba.
4. Gus Sue. What fun instrument am I trying to convey?

Answer: Kazoo

Most people have played a kazoo at some point in their lives. They are often a part of elementary music classes. If you are not familiar with kazoos, they are simply a tube-like instrument which makes a sort of humming noise. The musician "sings" (for lack of a better word) into the kazoo and it disguises their voice. It is extremely simple to use.
5. Tin pun knee. Which percussion instrument is this?

Answer: Timpani

The timpani is of the percussion family. Most people have seen timpanis, even if they don't know what they are called. They are giant drums that are struck with a mallet that usually has a padded head.
6. Poke gull gourds. What is this instrument that you carry with you every day?

Answer: Vocal cords

Yes, you carry an important instrument with you every day. Your voice and vocal cords are instruments. Basically anything that can make a sound can be loosely classified as an instrument.
7. Damp or ring. Which jingling instrument is this?

Answer: Tambourine

The tambourine is actually kind of a well-known percussion instrument. It is used in movies such as the cartoon "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," in which a gypsy by the name of Esmerelda plays it.
8. Art seek cord. Which piano-like instrument is it?

Answer: Harpsichord

The harpsichord is not a very popular instrument. It is similar to the piano. The only difference is that the harpsichord is not touch-sensitive, meaning that it doesn't matter how hard or softly you strike the key; the note will always play at the same volume.
9. You kill ale Lee. Which instrument is this?

Answer: Ukulele

A ukulele is usually associated with Hawaii and Hawaiian music, as it did originate there around the year 1880, based on a similar instrument from Portugal. It is like a mini guitar, only having four strings.
10. Bi bore again. What instrument am I talking about?

Answer: Pipe organ

The pipe organ is often found in churches and sometimes even in some movies or productions. "The Phantom of the Opera" is an example of that. Pipe organs vary. They have anywhere from one to five manuals. A manual is simply a keyboard that is played with the hands.

As well as having manuals, most pipe organs also have what is called a pedalboard, which is a large keyboard that is played with the feet. And as its name implies, the sound comes out of pipes that are located somewhere near the organ.
