Although they had broken up in the first season, Oren and Tasha still had feelings for each other and by the end of the season they were a couple again. When Hendricks sees that Jess's friends are still alive, he tells Billie's men to shoot Oren, Ethan, Tasha and Liam. Oren jumps in front of Tasha to try and save her.

Although she had just been stabbed with a sword in the back, Agent Ross is able to shoot the henchmen before they can kill Jess's friends.

Answer: Wooden poles

The water of the Devil's Swamp is too shallow to use a motor so the boats have to be propelled by pushing off the ground with wooden poles. Both Billie's boat that transported Jess and Rafael against their will and the boat that Ethan and Liam used were propelled by the wooden poles. From personal experience, I've found that using oars to paddle through water is faster than pushing off the ground with poles.

Answer: The fog of death

Jess and Rafael tell Billie and her bodyguards that many of Hernando de Soto's men centuries before became maddened and died due to the fog over the Devil's Swamp. She tells them that 'the fog of death' (la niebla de la mueta) makes you lose your direction and eventually makes you terrified which impacts your decision making.

Answer: Boy Scouts

While Liam and Ethan are on a boat to try and find Jess and Rafael, Liam brings up that he was in Boy Scouts but he didn't even make it out of the 1st level (Scout). On the other hand, Ethan made it all the way to the highest level, Eagle Scout. Later in the episode, Ethan would make a smoke signal that he learned while in Boy Scouts to help the search team find them.

The seven levels of Boy Scouts are Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star Scout, Life Scout, and Eagle Scout.

Answer: The truth

Billie tells Jess and Rafael that there's nothing more dangerous than the truth. She further explains that when treasure is found typically history is re-written and many people end up having a different outlook. Jess and Rafael tell Billie that nothing is more important than the truth and it is the job of treasure hunters to help uncover the truth.

Answer: Coyote

Billie's henchman, Hector, tries to take an emerald jewel out of the eye of a statue of a coyote. When he does this the statue sprays his face and he begins to hallucinate. Hector starts shooting his gun wildly so Kacey ends up shooting him. During the commotion, Jess and Rafael are able to escape.

In various cultural myths of the Americas, coyotes are seen as both sacred creatures with special powers and as evil tricksters. Knowing that coyotes are often viewed as tricksters, Jess and Rafael avoid coyote statues when they are seeking out the Mesoamerican treasure.

Answer: Bracelet

Jess and Rafael come to a crossroads on the way to the treasure before Billie and Hendricks. Jess notices that there is a statue of Huitzilopochtli whose name translates to 'Left-Handed Hummingbird'. Jess drops her bracelet on the right path to confuse Bille and Hendricks to go in that direction. Later, Ethan and Jess also see the bracelet but decide to go to the left knowing that Jess had dropped the bracelet on the right side to mislead.

Answer: They are trapped inside a cage.

When Jess accidentally steps on a panel, a large cage comes crashing down over her and Rafael. They are unable to lift the cage and they fear that they will be killed by Billie and Hendricks when they are located. Luckily, Liam and Ethan find them first and the four of them are able to lift the cage after a large log is used as a lever.

Answer: Stab her just under the collarbone

By phone, Doctor Zeke tells Tasha that Agent Ross doesn't have enough time to make it to a hospital. Due to the stab wound from Hendricks, Agent Ross's lungs had filled with blood and for her to be able to breathe normally, Tasha stabs her just below the collarbone with a metal straw. This action allows Agent Ross to breathe until she is assisted by trained medical professionals.

Answer: Caca

When Jess tells Rafael that her first word was mama, he asks if her second word was papa. She jokingly tells him that her second word was caca (poop in Spanish). The longer they are together, Jess realizes how much she missed having a father growing up. Jess never really forgives her father for not seeking out her and her mother Manuela, but she understands the importance of finding the treasure that Rafael dedicated his life to.

Answer: Liability

In an earlier episode at the Santiago Apostol Penitentiary, Rafael had told Billie that Salazar (cabal name for Hendricks) had shot and killed her brother, Sebastian, when he was trapped under rubble. Rafael wanted to help Sebastian but Salazar told Rafael that Sebastian was a liability.

When Hendricks shoots Kacey and calls her a liability, Billie knows that Rafael had told the truth about her brother and that Hendricks murdered Sebastian.

Answer: "Now I'm Salazar."

Presumably, Billie was the second-ranked person in her cabal of which Hendricks was the leader. Once she kills Hendricks, Billie states "Now I'm Salazar" implying that she is now the leader of her organization. With all of her accomplices dead, Billie goes off on her own to pursue Jess and Rafael and find the Mesoamerican treasure.

Answer: Floor puzzle

When Rafael, Jess and Liam enter the structure where the treasure is located, they come upon a room that has dozens of tiles with symbols on the floor. Jess figures out that it is a floor puzzle and at the same time they have to be standing on the three tiles associated with the Daughters of the Plumed Serpent that are represented by the Maya, Aztec and Inca. Once they do this, a stone that was blocking a passage moves and they are able to access the room with Mesoamerican artifacts and treasure.

Answer: Rafael

Rafael nearly gets crushed by rubble after Billie explodes the stone blocking the passage to the treasure room. It was Billie's intention all along to destroy the treasure once it was found. Luckily, Rafael isn't critically injured by the rubble that he gets buried under. Law enforcement eventually arrives to arrest Billie and assist with transporting the uncovered treasure to a museum.

Answer: He found a recording from his grandfather referencing other treasure.

The five young treasure hunters and Rafael are both proud and awestruck when they see the treasure they uncovered in the museum. Jess and Rafael are particularly proud that now their mother/wife Manuela is looked upon favorably as her research and theories are now confirmed.

They all take a selfie and then Liam tells them he has important news. While going through his grandfather Peter Sadusky's things, he came upon a taped recording. He tells them that the recording referenced a different treasure.

This type of cliffhanger almost certainly sets up a second season for "National Treasure: Edge of History".
