When the guard came around and opened the truck, LaBonge stood and put his hands up so that the tattoos on the backs of the hands could be seen. Later, when the guard was watching security tapes from the bank, he saw the same tattoos on Alvarez's hands.

Answer: false

He called them so that they would arrest him. He ran out of the place with the fake gun and was sent to city lockup, where he could meet up with Pinchbeck.
