Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Of the options above, 10 are in England; the other 5 are located within the three other countries of the United Kingdom: Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Buckingham Palace, a home of the Royal Family and their administrative center, is located within London. The Bodleian Library, a complex of five buildings, is found in Oxford; portions of it date back to 1602. Stonehenge, however, dates back to between 3000 and 2000 BC; located on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, its method of construction and purpose still puzzles scholars.

The Royal Pavilion, also known as the Brighton Pavilion, is found in Brighton, and was the brainchild of the then Prince of Wales, later King George IV, beginning in 1787. It was a royal residence until Queen Victoria sold it to the town of Brighton in 1850. St. Michael's Mount, a tidal island with a castle dating to the 17th century, is found in Cornwall, while Durdle Door, a natural limestone door-like arch, is in Dorset.

The classic White Cliffs of Dover are, of course, in Dover, while the famous Whitby Abbey, which dates to the 7th century, is located in North Yorkshire. Hadrian's Wall's location is harder to pin down; constructed as a defensive wall by the order of the Roman Emperor Hadrian beginning in 121 AD, the wall runs across northern England. York Minster, completed in 1472, is, as the name suggests, in York!

The beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as the 13th century Conwy Castle, are in Wales. the Giant's Causeway, a landscape of columns of basalt, and Carrickfergus Castle, a Norman castle built in 1177, are found in Northern Ireland, both in Country Antrim. Ben Nevis, Scotland's highest mountain, can be found near Fort William.
