John Hughes usually cast some of these members for his teen movies in the 1980s. The Rat Pack was a group of experienced actors such as Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Joey Bishop, Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Judy Gardland, among others in the 1950s and 1960s. Teen Pack and New Actors Pack were made up by me.

John Hughes was vastly credited for creating "The Brat Pack" as well as the beginnings of the "The Frat Pack". His films easily translated well to young people by creating situations teetering on the precipice of youth and adulthood - and the outcome of realization of both independence and accountability. In his films, Hughes cast Anthony Michael Hall in roles based on John Hughes himself. After casting Molly Ringwald as Samantha in "Sixteen Candles", Hughes wrote the characters of Claire Standish ("The Breakfast Club") and Andie Walsh ("Pretty in Pink") with her in mind. Following his work with John Candy in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", Hughes penned two characters to showcase Candy's comedic talent - Chet Ripley ("The Great Outdoors") and Buck Russell ("Uncle Buck").
