From Quiz
Wrestling Managers Part Three of Three

Answer: Cousin

Sunshine was Jimmy's first valet. The team worked together in WCCW and feuded with the Von Erich family. Jimmy's main nemeses were David Von Erich. David had on one occasion spanked Sunshine in the middle of the ring because of her constant interference in matches. Jimmy also lost a bout to David in which Sunshine and Jimmy had to be David's servants for a day. Jimmy replaced Sunshine with his wife, Precious. It was noted that Sunshine was replaced because she was causing trouble in her cousin's marriage to Precious.

Sgt. Slaughter had made a turn to a "heel", he along with The Iron Sheik were aligned with General Adnan. Sgt. Slaughter would defeat The Ultimate Warrior for the title at the Royal Rumble. He debuted in the AWA in the early 1980s. His goal was to win the AWA World Title which he did not do. He did however manage the team of Jerry Blackwell known as Sheik Ayatollah Jerry Blackwell and Ken Patera to the AWA Tag Team Title.

3. Originally known as "Playboy" this arrogant manager rose to prominence in the 1970s in the Florida Territory. In the early 1980s he became the main heel manager for Fritz Von Erich in WCCW. Who was this man?

From Quiz Managers of Wrestling

Answer: Gary Hart

Never at a loss for words and always wearing a sport jacket and tie, Gary Hary was one of the most successful managers of the 1970s and 1980s. During the 1970s he managed mainly in Eddie Graham's Florida territory and along with a stable that included Pak Song, Bob Orton Jr, Dick Slater, Tim Brooks and Bob Roop became a thorn in the side of Dusty Rhodes. In 1981 Hart went to WCCW where for the next six years he would handle the likes of One Man Gang, Chris Adams, Gino Hernandez, Jeep Swenson and Al Perez. In 1989 Hart had one last run in WCW where he headed up a major heel faction called "The J-Tex Coporation". Sadly Hart died in 2008 from a massive coronary at 66 just hours after doing an autograph signing.

4. It is not uncommon for wrestlers/managers to change their name to fit their gimmick. Who was born John Jay Sutton?

From Quiz Wrestling Managers Part One of Three

Answer: Oliver Humperdink

John began his career in the AWA in the 1960s. His first job was neither as a manager or a wrestler, but as security. He would later move to Florida Championship Wrestling, a NWA territory at the time. He would manage the team of Buddy Roberts and Jerry Brown known as "The Hollywood Blonds". Under Humperdink's guidance the two men won the NWA Florida Tag team Title. Oliver is probably best known for his stint in the then WWF as the manager of Bam Bam Bigelow and Paul Orndorff. Oliver was brought into the WWF in an angle where all the "heel" managers were trying to recruit Bigelow to their stables. Bigelow himself had just entered the WWF. One by one all the managers were eliminated, it was finally revealed that Oliver was Bam Bam's new manager. John was a very boisterous over the top personality. He had a flashy way of dressing that often involved a sequined jacket. The personality was what I liked about him most. Although I never got to witness him as a heel manager, I am sure it would have been extremely entertaining. John sadly passed away in March of 2011 from pneumonia.

An average, at best, wrestler with great interview skills, "Pretty Boy" Bobby Heenan, abandoned his in-the-ring career to manage Nick Bockwinkle. After 10 years, this alliance finally resulted in victory over Verne Gagne for Bockwinkle's first AWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1975 to begin a reign that would last five years with an additional two titles to follow. From Quiz Wrestling Managers Part Two of Three

Answer: mobile phone

Paul E. Dangerously based his character off of Jim Cornette. Both men had extremely big mouths, but used their wrestlers to back up the words. Dangerously would often use the phone to hit his wrestler's opponents with much like Cornette did with the tennis racquet. Jim Cornette had managed "The Midnight Express" consisting first of Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton. Dennis was replaced with Stan Lane when Condrey left the NWA. Dennis would team back up with Randy Rose in the AWA as "The Original Midnight Express". The team was managed by Paul. It was not long until Paul along with Condrey and Rose ventured into the NWA. They quickly began a feud with Cornette and his team, but it did not last as Condrey soon left again. Paul was often seen talking on his phone during his wrestler's bouts. He would often interrupt interviews to take phone calls. He would frequently use the phone to aid his wrestlers in victory. The mobile phones at that the time was the big and bulky ones so they were heavy.

Baby Doll was a great help to Tully helping him successfully defend his NWA World Television Title through her interference. Nickla stayed with Tully until he fired her and she then became the valet of Dusty Rhodes. Baby Doll was always one of my favorites due to the fact she was extremely animated. She was often at the side of the ring screaming and shouting for Tully to win. She helped Tully retain his title through any means needed. She later would turn on Dusty Rhodes and aid Ric Flair in a title defense against Rhodes.

When Jerry returned, he and Ellering battled in a lengthy feud. Jimmy also managed Andy Kaufman during his tenure in CWA. Kaufman and Lawler's feud brought worldwide media to the CWA. Jimmy achieved his greatest success in the WWF. He managed The Hart Foundation to the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Titles. The team consisted of veteran wrestler Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and Bret "The Hitman" Hart. They were my favorite tag team in the area even though they were considered "heels" at the time. Jimmy also managed The Honky Tonk Man to the Intercontinental Championship. The Honky Tonk Man defended the title successfully for 64 weeks.
