Submission Process
|
| The Submission Process So you've got your quiz completed and you've submitted it. What now? Well, first you'll need to wait. Probably at least a few days, but at times more than a week. The Movies category is very busy, and the more work the editors put in with each author, the longer the wait becomes. The first rejection note you receive will probably be pointing out general errors. These can be formal issues (like titles not in quotes, or using FITBs when you shouldn't) or general grammatical ones (like confusion of homonyms, or not using ending punctuation). Once you've fixed those initial errors to the satisfaction of the editors, they can really get down to the work of editing the quiz. This will usually mean that you get a detailed question-by-question report of errors. You might get a few of these, as new errors pop up when you fix old ones. Once the formal errors and detailed errors have been attended to, your quiz will be ready to go online. There are a few ways to speed up this process. - First, you should read through all of the Quiz Creation Notes and try to apply them to your quiz as you make it. - Second, you should not resubmit your quiz until you've addressed every error listed. Resubmitting a quiz with old errors will result in volleying the quiz back and forth between the author and editor until the quiz is deleted. - Third, if you ever have a question about a correction you receive, you should reply to the editor. This works best if you actually use the 'Reply' function, rather than the 'Not an Error' box, since the reply will be sent to the editor, but the not an error response won't be seen until you resubmit the quiz. The editors here are not psychic and have no way of knowing that authors don't understand something unless those authors reach out and communicate their troubles! 15-March-2003 |
