| Quizzes can have no MORE than half (that means 50%) of the questions be fill in the blanks except under EXTREME circumstances (with editors' approval). Make sure you have how many words are in the fill in the blank answer in the hint section. You must make sure you are SPECIFIC on how you ask for the answer - keep in mind that people may not always word things the same way as you. The players should not have to think about how the author would have phrased the answer. Do not use quotations for fill in the blank answers. Fill in the blank answers cannot, when written correctly, contain punctuation. Such answers MUST be multiple choice. (We have found problems with, among other things, the default apostrophe that different countries use.) Also, we will not penalize people for spelling something correctly. True/false and yes/no questions do NOT count as fill in the blank questions. These should be the special true/false and yes/no format question. New quizmakers cannot use the fill in the blank format because they are not accustomed to the site and how fill in the blank answers should be formed. You must make sure there are no extra space marks at the beginning, end or in between words in the fill in the blank answers. Extra spaces will cause the players to get the answer wrong, even if they spelled the answer correctly. We will not allow questions that ask for a fill in the blank answer that's a color. This is because colors change between countries and even television sets. Fill in the blank answers in this category may not exceed five words. Do not put the hints in parentheses - the computer does that automatically. As this site is NOT case sensitive, you should not tell players how to capitalise the answer. Please read the directions (in the edit screen) on how to format fill in the blank answers. They are located right below where you type in the correct answer in the quiz edit page. ANIME QUIZZES: As of December 2006, the TV category will no longer allow fill in the blanks for anime quizzes. The spelling of character names, fighting styles, weapons, and the like, seem to differ from country to country, translation to translation, and from manga to anime. 12 Dec 2006 |
