This is the first "Megaman" game that features Beat. Rush is already in the game when it starts, and Auto doesn't debut until "Megaman 7". Roll is not featured in "Megaman V".

"Mega Man 9" is heavily inspired by the first two "Mega Man" titles. However, Capcom clearly lifted the bubbles idea from "Mega Man 5".

Dr. Wily has three attack forms in "Mega man 5". The second form he mans a giant skull tank, and the third he disappears and reappears. In "Mega Man 6" he also tries crushing you as well, though the floor does not thrust upward as in "Mega Man 5".

6. Which enemy trademark weapon is a more powerful version of Megaman's slide?

Answer: Charge Kick

Once you have defeated Charge Man and inherited the Charge Kick, all you have to do is slide like you normally would, and Megaman does the Charge Kick. It's not extremely useful, except against Wave Man.

7. When you face Proto Man, he gets on shot on you before you have time to respond. How many bars of energy does Mega Man have left after this shot?

Proto Man blasts you with one shot. Then all of a sudden the real Proto Man shows up, blasts away the cloned Proto Man's facade to reveal a Dark Robot underneath. Proto Man restores your health, exits, and the fight begins anew.

In Star Man's stage, you have to watch just how high you DO jump, because there are a lot of star spikes throughout the area. While fighting Star Man, you'll soon realize that Star Man is more agile than you. Mastering your jumping ability (or curse, depending on how you look at it) is crucial in defeating Star Man.

11. Whose level is set in the jungle?

Napalm Man's stage is home to a lot of tigers, especially near the beginning. You want to be ready to nail them with a charge shot before you see them and fire quickly when they appear. If you've seen the movie "Apocalypse Now", the landscape of this level is very reminiscent of that.

12. What colour is the final Dark Man that you must fight in Proto Man's castle?

The first "Dark Man" robot you fight is green. The second is silver. The third is purple. The final one, who is disguised as Proto Man initially until the real Proto Man shows up and blows his cover, is maroon.

After getting to Protoman, the REAL Protoman appears to save the day. The real one leaves, and the evil one transforms into a Darkman Robot. Once you defeat it, Dr. Wily will show up and reveal he was behind it all, and that Dr. Light is a captive in his lair. Dr. Cossack was in "Megaman IV".

16. In Issue 44 of Nintendo Power, two "Mega Man" titles were covered back to back. The second "Mega Man" game was "Mega Man V". The first title was one of the Game Boy titles, but which one?

"Mega Man III" for the Game Boy takes four bosses from "Mega Man III" and four bosses from "Mega Man IV", then mixes up the stages a little bit. On the original Gameboy titles, only "Mega Man V" was an entirely original game, not based on any of the Nintendo titles.

"Mega Man V" made its debut in the Top 5 in Issue Forty Seven of Nintendo Power at the fourth spot on the list That month, "Tecmo Super Bowl", "Super Mario Bros. 3", and "The Legend of Zelda" were 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The highest "Mega Man V" ever got on the charts was number three, back to back in issues 50 and 51. "Mega Man V" appeared a total of eight times within the Top 5.

19. How many different machines must you fight that have Dr. Wily directly behind the controls?

The first time you fight Wily is after you take out the eight robots in the third stage of Wily's Fortress. This machine goes back and forth and then comes crashing down, landing on a random part of the floor. The last stage has back-to-back battles with Wily, first in a huge skull robot that fires blue bombs and missiles, and finally in a small ship that teleports from area to area while releasing energy balls that go all over the place.
