F.E.A.R. Trivia Questions

1. Despite the title of the game being "F.E.A.R.", it is actually an acronym. What does "F.E.A.R." actually stand for?

From Quiz
F.E.A.R.

Answer: First Encounter Assault Recon

"F.E.A.R.", or First Encounter Assault Recon, is a fictional division of the United States military that deals with investigating and isolating hostile paranormal activity. The main character of the game, the "Point-Man" of the "F.E.A.R." team, is the player controlled character. He boasts special powers that can slow down time to help him take out enemies.

2. The primary objective throughout the course of the game is to hunt down and kill the man who took control of a battalion of clone soldiers. What was this man's name?

From Quiz F.E.A.R.

Answer: Paxton Fettel

Paxton Fettel was the primary candidate of a secret government project that allowed one man to control an entire army. After taking control of the game's army, he kills everyone at the secret research base he was held at. Paxton has an unusual tendency to eat people's flesh. It is revealed that the reason for his cannibalism is not nutritional, but rather to see the memories of his victims. He also has the ability to warp in and out of the human's conscious mind at any time. The only weakness the man ever had was the fact that a government tracker was placed into his head, making it easy to find him. He did elude escape several times, however.

3. After defeating a contingent of Replica Soldiers, news arrived to the "Point-Man" involving the capture of which character?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: Jin Sun-Kwon

The communication to the "Point-Man" came from the other "F.E.A.R." member, Douglas Holiday. After exiting the church catacombs, Holiday and the "Point-Man" joined forces to save Jin Sun-Kwon. More sinister things, even beyond the extent of the first game awaited the two.

4. The antagonist of the game controls an army of one thousand soldiers all by his lonesome. How does he do that?

From Quiz F.E.A.R.

Answer: Telepathically

Paxton Fettel controls the army of the game with his mind. Although their strategies are self-thought, their actions and mobility are all controlled by the mind of Paxton. Near the end of the game, when Fettel is shot dead, the last three Replica Soldiers just turn off and freeze in their place.

5. In the previous game, the "Point-Man" was the hunter, hunting down the Replica soldiers and their leader. What was he in "F.E.A.R. Extraction Point"?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: The hunted

In the first game, the "Point-Man" was sent in to defeat Paxton Fettel and shut down the Replica army. After supposedly defeating Paxton, the armies were shut down for a short while. After returning from death, Paxton and his army were then the hunters, hunting the "Point-Man" with the intent to capture or kill. Alma Wade and her paranormal adversaries also joined to try and stop the game's hero.

6. How did the Replica troops move their equipment and supplies?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: Through the subway system

One of the game's levels placed the player into the subway system, where the Replica forces had set up their operations. Their largest contingent, armory and heavy explosives were all stationed there. Unfortunately, thanks to the "Point-Man" and general enemy incompetence, all of the explosives destroyed the subway system.

7. One of the game's later missions takes the "Point-Man" to the secret vault, where all of the game's sinister happenings originate. What is the name of the company that owns the facility?

From Quiz F.E.A.R.

Answer: Armacham Technology Corporation

Armacham Technology Corporation was responsible for the "Origin" project and the clone army battalion. It is also where most of the game's main character's have origins. ATC Guards made up most of the enemies in the beginning of the level, however, the Replica Soldiers took over to cause the "Point-Man" trouble.

8. Among the new enemy units introduced to the game was a brand new mech creature. The previous game had a lower version of the new one. What was the new one called?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: REV 8

The REV 8 was a more powerful version of the REV 6. The REV 6 was slow, short and weakly armored. The REV 8 was equipped with rocket launchers, machine guns, amazing speed and power. It's bulkiness did make it easier to hit with weapon fire, but it's heavier armor made it more difficult to kill.

9. The game's story eventually leads the player to realize the name of a top secret psychic project. What is it called?

From Quiz F.E.A.R.

Answer: Origin

"Origin" was formed so psychics could be created from a powerful psychic host. A young girl named Alma was taken away at the age of eight and impregnated at the age of 15 to create two psychically gifted people. Eventually, she went mad and became more of a paranormal horror than anything. During the events of the game, she had amazing powers that extended beyond the basic psychic ones. She could teleport from place to place at will, she could take the characters into flashbacks of her life, and summon demon-like creatures. She could also make the flesh melt off of any person she wished. Ouch!

10. After locating F.E.A.R. operative Jin Sun-Kwon, the creatures that killed Doug Holiday, made a gruesome comeback. What was different about Jin Sun-Kwon's death, as opposed to Holiday's?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: Her body was left intact after her death.

Both her and Douglas Holiday were subjected to the paranormal powers of the mysterious demons. Doug and Jin were both manipulated, tossed around and eventually killed. The difference though, was that the creatures did not turn Jin Sun-Kwon's corpse into mush like they did with Holiday. The really disturbing part of her death was that with her gone, the player realized that they were completely alone.

11. Informed that he must get to the extraction point, the "Point-Man" was forced to battle his way to the roof of a particular building. What kind of building was it?

From Quiz F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Answer: Hospital

The hospital was easily the most bloody and violent building in the game. Filled with the liquefied remains of patients and enemy soldiers, the hospital truly emphasized the horrors of the game. Near the end of the hospital level, the player was taken into a "mind-prison" by Alma Wade. Within it were the many people that she killed, including Harlan Wade and Alice Wade. After escaping the vision, the hospital was restored to its old self.

12. Whatever happened to the secret base?

From Quiz F.E.A.R.

Answer: It blew up.

After destroying the reactors in the vault of the base, the "Point-Man" triggered a dangerous element. He had almost no time to leave the building, and when he did, a large explosion destroyed the base and a large chunk of surrounding land. Fortunately the "Point-Man" survived.
