The British rock band Status Quo released the single "Living on an Island" in 1979. It was an autobiographical ballad written by lead singer Rick Parfitt about his time living on the Isle of Jersey as a tax exile. Taxes in the UK in the 1970s were so extortionate that many high earners chose to take up residency elsewhere to avoid them. The song chronicles his loneliness and isolation as well as his partying when his friend comes to the isle.

5. CCRUISE
Answer: Sea Cruise
Written by Huey "Piano" Smith in 1958, it was recorded that same year by Smith with his band the Clowns. While the band was on tour the studio replaced Smith's vocals with those of nineteen year old Frankie Ford to give the song a "younger" sound. Smith was not impressed. He was even less impressed when Ford altered some of the lyrics so that he could also gain a writing credit for the number.
The song has since been covered numerous times and the list of artists who have done so includes the likes of Dion, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys, John Fogerty and Status Quo. Believe it or not, it was even covered by a band called the Seacruisers in 2020.

6. SARKAW
Answer: Arkansas
The solution of Ark in Saw sounds like the US state of Arkansas.
The song "Arkansas" is a southern stomp released by Chris Stapleton in 2020. It also appears on his album "Starting Over", recorded in the same year. The song was inspired by a road trip the singer took from Oklahoma City to his ranch in Tennessee, driving a new Porsche 911 that was a birthday present from his wife. The track was co-written with his good friend Mike Campbell, guitarist for the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty's former band.

8. BLUEU
Answer: Blue Bayou
This is the second of two that we felt the solution may not have been obvious - Blue is by the letter U.
"Blue Bayou" was written by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson and recorded by Orbison in 1963. It became an international hit for the singer. Answer: Dish it Up
"Dish It Up" is a witty number from Minneapolis punk band The Suburbs. The lyrics are instilled with a dose of paranoia about the upper class looking down on the band. The track appears on the band's second studio album, 1981's "Credit in Heaven", one of the band's most ambitious albums, with 17 songs spread over two discs. Formed in 1977, at the height of the punk scene, the band, despite their spiky sound, walked a fine line between being arty and pretentious. One critic described their sound as being a "mildly sinister mixture of Talking Heads, Roxy Music, and Pere Ubu".
