Rosh Hashanah (literally translated as "head of the year") is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. It is customary on this Holiday to eat a round loaf of raisin challah (egg bread), and enjoy apples dipped in honey. According to custom, both of these foods help to usher in a sweet new year.
