Answer: Twas The Night Before Christmas

Clement Clarke Moore wrote a poem called "A Visit from St. Nicholas" which later became the famous poem "'Twas The Night Before Christmas". Clement wrote the poem for his children on Christmas Eve night in 1822. One year later, the poem was published in the New York paper, "Sentinel".

Henry Livingston has been credited with writing "'Twas the Night Before Christmas".

Answer: How the Grinch stole Christmas

Doctor Seuss wrote "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in the year 1957 in his familiar rhyming verse. Since the book was published, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has been a cartoon movie and an adult movie with Jim Carrey playing the Grinch and Ron Howard directing.
3. Escaping a December holiday

John Grisham stepped away from his legalese novels to bring his readers a Christmas treat. His first Christmas story was published in 2002 by Doubleday books. "Skipping Christmas" is a story of a family that decides to forgo Christmas for the tropical climate. If this premise sounds familiar, it is because John Grisham's book was turned into a movie titled "Christmas with the Kranks".

In 1972, HarperTrophy published a book for writer Barbara Robinson called "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever". The story is about a group of school children that put on a Christmas play for their parents and other adults. Barbara wrote several companion books to her best selling Christmas book.

Rhonda Greene wrote a rhyming story for children called "Santa's Stuck". Her story, published in 2004 by Dutton Children's Books, takes place on Christmas Eve during Santa's delivery of toys. Santa eats too many cookies and drinks too much milk. When he tries to get into one of the chimneys he gets stuck and it takes a group of animals to help Santa get unstuck.
7. The smallest of heavenly beings

Answer: The Littlest Angel

A young angel gives his box of most precious treasures to baby Jesus on the night He is born. Written by Charles Tazwell, "The Littlest Angel" was published by Ideals Christmas Books in 2001 and has been reprinted numerous times.
8. A December holiday song

Answer: A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens wrote in a "A Christmas Carol" a timeless story of one man's journey to find the true meaning of Christmas. Written in 1843, "A Christmas Carol" was supposed to be just a way for Mr. Dickens to pay off his debt. However, this timeless story became his best known work. It was published by Chapman and Hall.
9. The frigid fast train

Answer: The Polar Express

In 2004, Tom Hanks turned this classic Caldecott winner into a TV movie, but "The Polar Express" had been around since 1985. The author, Chris Van Allsburg, is also the illustrator. "The Polar Express" was published by Houghton Mifflin.

Answer: Twelve Days of Christmas

Several authors had turned "The Twelve Days of Christmas" into their own books, and author Jan Brett was not any different. In 1999, Hodder Wayland Publishing company published Jan Brett's "Twelve Days of Christmas". The book was illustrated with beautiful graphics of each day drawn personally by Jan Brett.
