Answer: Cortina

The Cortina was the best-selling car in the UK in the 1970s. It was in production from 1962 to 1982. It was replaced by the Ford Sierra in 1982.
2. SCRT

Answer: Escort

The Ford Escort, as most people remember it, was in production from 1968 to 2002. Although there was a model in production with that name from 1955 to 1961, this was a reduced specification of the Ford Squire model.
3. ZDC

Answer: Zodiac

The Ford Zodiac launched at the London Motor Show in 1953 was a luxury variant of the Ford Zephyr. It was in production in various forms until 1972.
4. CRSR

Answer: Corsair

In 1963, when the model first came onto the market, it was know as the Ford Consul Corsair. It later became known as just the Ford Corsair and was in production until 1970.
5. PPLR

Answer: Popular

When launched in 1953, the Ford Popular was the cheapest car on sale in Britain (£390). It was in production until 1962, although the basic Escort and Fiesta had Popular editions after that date. The name was also used way back in the 1930s to describe the Ford Y type model.
6. NGL

Answer: Anglia

The Ford Anglia was in production in various forms from 1939 to 1967. It was replaced by the Ford Escort. The later 105E versions were also used as police cars for a while.
7. CPR

Answer: Capri

In production from 1968 to 1986, the Capri was originally intended to be a European equivalent to the Ford Mustang. A lime green version of the car was used by Del Trotter in the very popular UK comedy "Only Fools and Horses".
8. CNSL

Answer: Consul

The Ford Consul was in production from 1951 till 1962 and then again from 1972 till 1975. Its predecessor was the Ford Pilot and it was followed by the Ford Cortina.
9. GRND

Answer: Granada

In production from 1972 till 1994, the Ford Granada became popular as a larger Ford model for taxi and police use. There were also versions of the Granada used as limousines and hearses.
10. MND

Answer: Mondeo

The Ford Mondeo began production from 1992 and was still in production at the time this quiz was written (2017). As one of Ford's larger cars, it was and is a car used by many companies for their employees who needed a vehicle.
