Armie's name is actually of lineage in the Hammer family. He is named for his great-grandfather, Armand Hammer. In spite of what some of us think, the Hammer family's interest in the baking soda that closely resembles their name, stops at the purchase of some shares in the company by the great-grandfather and being a member of the board. Armie's name is, Armand Douglas Hammer.

In 2012 while driving some furniture through Texas, Armie and a pal had to go through a police checkpoint. They came to the car, the dog sniffed, and alerted to what it was trained for, drugs. Armie was arrested in Sierra Blanca Texas, spent the night in jail, and after due process continued on his way. On his way out Barrett said, "Such a good customer."
