Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In CB terminology, what was meant by the term "popcorn"?

Answer: Hail storm.

This term is pretty self-explanatory, it pops and falls, lol.
2. Truckers often use QSL cards.

Answer: False

QSL cards are written copies of a two-way radio transmission. They are typically used more by HAM, USB and LSB users as collector items showing the various conversations they have had with people from all over the world.
3. In CB terminology, what was meant by the term "redneck radio"?

Answer: Someone who talks on the CB using only slang terms.

Interestingly enough as much as truckers use slang they despise someone who either talks nothing but slang and/or is making up words to make themselves look like they are experienced CB users.
4. In CB terminology what was meant by the term "sunbeam"?

Answer: A user who livens up the channel.

Truckers would often be driving late at night. While they do enjoy some serious conversation it certainly kept things going smoother if they could laugh and joke as well as some serious conversations. This term is close to "fog lifter".
5. In CB terminology what, was meant by the term "10-4"?

Answer: Affirmative

The "10" codes are really interesting. There are basically 100 although not all are used very often at all.
6. In CB terminology what, was meant by the term "Uncle Charlie"?

Answer: The FCC

This is one of many terms for the FCC and few are complimentary. The FCC is, among other things, in charge of making sure CBs are kept legal, not juiced or modified.
7. In CB terminology what, was meant by the term "water hole"?

Answer: Truck stop

Truck stops are another one of those things which truckers call many different things. A good truck stop is one of the most important things to a trucker. A chance to take a shower, grab some decent food and even sit a spell and chat with other truckers.
8. "YL" is the term used for a young female CB'er.

Answer: True

"YL" is one of the few polite terms used for young female CB users. If this term is used, you can bet the truckers know her or her father and respect both.
9. In CB terminology, what was meant by the term "zebra"?

Answer: Black and white police car.

This term is not used a lot, as not all police cars are black and white anymore.
10. In CB terminology, what CB channel is typically reserved for emergencies?

Answer: Channel 9

I hope you enjoyed my quiz, I have a few more planned if this one goes over well. My Uncle was a truck driver his whole life and I grew up talking on CBs. Creating this brought back some great memories!
