Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. While fighting for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, whom does Jack meet as he tramps through the swamp?

Answer: The Devil

Escaping from the war-ravaged South, Jack comes across an old man with sharp nails who has an uncanny poker talent. Luckily, Jack finally wins and gets a magic sack for all of his troubles. These actions took place in the eleventh issue of "Fables", which debuted in 2003.
2. Whom does Tommy Sharp ask for by name?

Answer: Bigby Wolf

Tommy Sharp is a journalist who has learned of the Fables' long life spans and of Fabletown's existence. He confronts Bigby with this information, drawing the false conclusion that they're all vampires. Although Bigby erects and carries out an elaborate scheme, Bluebeard later shoots the man in the head. These events happened in "Fables" #12-13, which went on sale in 2003.
3. Prince Charming defeats Bluebeard in the fencing match.

Answer: False

Bluebeard rather handily defeats Prince Charming during the fencing match, with a score of five to zero. When he learns that Bluebeard intends to kill Bigby and Snow White, Prince Charming faces the wealthy man in an actual duel, and Bluebeard is run through. These events happened in issues #14-16, which all debuted in 2003.
4. Why did Snow and Bigby vacation together?

Answer: Bluebeard told them to go together

Old King Cole, mayor of Fabletown, is shocked at this news, as Snow is a workaholic and never takes vacation days. He is even more shocked to hear that Bigby is going along, but it turns out that the pair were just following Bluebeard's orders. Snow made the startling proclamation in the fourteenth issue of "Fables", which went on sale in 2003.
5. How does Bigby heal his wounds?

Answer: He turns into a wolf

After he was in a rough car crash with Snow White at the wheel, Bigby has a badly-broken arm, which will heal as soon as he turns into a wolf. However, the bone does need to be set in order to heal correctly. Bigby broke his arm in "Fables" #15, which went on sale in 2003.
6. Why does Bigby smoke?

Answer: To deaden his senses

Bigby has heightened senses, and smokes so that he can bring his senses down to a manageable level. Presumably his healing factor and longevity make up for any potential lung damage. Bigby reveals this to Snow White in "Fables" #15, which went on sale in 2003.
7. Did Bigby kill Goldilocks?

Answer: No

Even though Godlilocks is knocked off of her dirt bike by Bigby's gusts of wind, hit by a truck, hit in the head with an axe, and falls off a cliff, she doesn't die. Her popularity as a Fable allows her to survive, just as Snow White survived being shot in the head. Goldilocks faced these gruesome tortures in "Fables" #16-17, which debuted in 2003.
8. Who sees Prince Charming with a rolled-up rug?

Answer: Mrs. Web

Ms. Muffet, who famously sat on a tuffet, is now married to the spider in the same nursery rhyme, making her Mrs. Web. Prince Charming offers her a belated congratulations on her marriage, and bids her not to worry about the dead body he has rolled up in the rug. Prince Charming treats murder nonchalantly in "Fables" #17, which went on sale in 2003.
9. What's the first thing Bigby will do when he returns from his camping trip?

Answer: Wring Jack's neck

Bigby announces his intentions while waiting for a flight in New York City's LaGuardia airport. In that same conversation, Snow White suggests that she wouldn't be adverse to going on a date with Bigby. These events happened in "Fables" #17, which debuted in 2003.
10. Which Fable is pregnant?

Answer: Snow White

After getting back to Fabletown, Snow White begins to have morning sickness, and goes to see Doctor Swineheart, who confirms her pregnancy. Bigby admits that he knew she was with child, but didn't tell her because she needed to be calm in the face of danger. Needless to say, this puts a damper on their budding romantic relationship. Snow found out in "Fables" 17, which went on sale in 2003.
