The Demon symbolizes vengeance and terror, but also the destruction and purgatory that comes before creation and rebirth. He was just what Adam Moon needed to break away from his abusive father and form his own life.

Answer: Kismet

When she visits the maze of mirrors in the Circus, Kismet is sent back through time and sees how four princes attempted to steal the power of the Elder. The gypsy witch Ravenna stops them, but the price to pay is that she and her people has to be bound to the Elder forever. Kismet is allowed to join the Circus in her own time, since she would sacrifice her own life to save lady Ravenna.

The Celestial tricks the Magus into believing he had gotten their power, and is now master of the entire Universe. Unfortunately for him, the universe he controls is contained in a small bottle in our world.

Fortunado, the misshapen clown, killed a man to rescue the woman he loved, Penelope. What he did not anticipate was that the girl would commit suicide over her dead lover. Fortunado became so struck with grief that he starved himself to death in his jail cell while writing poetry to Penelope. This made him the ideal vessel for the Starbearer, who embodies passion and pain.

5. Issues 10-13 saw the Elder battling one of their toughest enemies ever, who seemingly defeated them and destroyed the world in the process. Who was this ultimate foe?

Answer: The Nightmare King

"Destroyer" was the name of that particular chapter in the series. The Frenzy and Parasite were two other characters who got to feel the justice of the Elder.

Ben Roberts, AKA Romeo Blade, was the greatest rock star of all time because of the Starbearer, but then he got to absorbed with the money, drugs and women that he forgot about the music. He drives a nail through his hand to defy the Elder, but in the end they show mercy by giving him the gift of playing like he used to one last time.

Tiberius was the proverbial great white hunter, and was killed when hunting a white lion with emerald eyes. In between life and death, the King of Beasts came to him and gave him the offer: Tiberius would live on for a time, but as a keeper for the Elder spirit. They quickly agreed.

Ukira, a young samurai, is on an important mission when the Four-Who-are-One sets him four trials that each gives him new wisdom and insight in himself. In the end, Ukira must face the final test and break free of the fox spirits who has captured him. So he uses what he learned to trick the tricksters, and the final page depicts him wearing the Fox make-up.

Interestingly enough, this is the only portrayal of the King of Beasts with a club. Every time he is shown holding a weapon in the series, it is a spear.

When sales dropped and they had to end the comic, McFarlane company decided to go full circle and do a new story on Adam Moon. It shows that the Elder always keeps an eye on their charges and will not allow them to forget who they owe their new, improved life.
