Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the 2001 invasion of WWF, which former ECW Superstar was the first to hit the ring and interfere in a match?

Answer: Lance Storm

Storm, who was part of WCW when the organisation was bought out by WWFE, was the first man to invade the WWF. He was soon followed in subsequent weeks by Hugh Morrus and Stacy Keibler. In ECW, Storm was part of the most successful teams in the company's history, The Impact Players, with another current WWE Superstar, Justin Credible.
2. Shane Douglas, who had two short spells in the WWF, was given a large amount of credit for putting ECW on the map. How did he achieve this?

Answer: He refused to accept the NWA Championship

In 1994, Douglas won a tournament for the NWA Championship which was competed for at an Eastern Championship Wrestling event. After the match, in a move devised by the bookers but unbeknown to the NWA, Douglas denounced the championship and refused to accept it, stating that it was a second-rate title.

He then declared that the new name for ECW was EXTREME Championship Wrestling, and a new era had begun.
3. True of False? Before his 'nice guy' days in the WWF/E, Spike Dudley was portrayed as a drug abuser in ECW.

Answer: True

When Spike Dudley joined the WWF shortly before ECW went bankrupt, he dropped the first part of his name. In ECW, he was known as Little Spike Dudley (LSD) and was a drug abuser, with his finishing move as "The Acid Drop," or "Dudley Dogg" as it's known in the WWF/E.
4. Who was known as 'Lionheart' in ECW?

Answer: Chris Jericho

Jericho became a star in ECW before moving to WCW and then eventually the WWF in late 1999. The name 'Lionheart' can also be attributed to his two finishing moves, "The Lionsault" and "Lion Tamer," or "Walls of Jericho" as it is known in the WWF/E.
5. Which of these wrestlers commentated on ECW before joining WWE?

Answer: Kurt Angle

After winning a gold medal in Freestyle Wrestling at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, Angle appeared as a guest commentator on an ECW show. Angle was appalled at the lack of morality in professional wrestling and had no interest to join the sport. How times change. Angle is now a former Hardcore, European, Intercontinental, WWE Tag Team and 3-time WWE Champion, as well as the 2000 King of the Ring (as of 8th January, 2003). Wow!
6. Which of these four wrestling legends have NEVER participated in ECW?

Answer: Ric Flair

Of the four men listed, "Terrible" Terry Funk was given the most kudos for shoving ECW into the spotlight. Although famous on the indy scene, Mick Foley only found real fame when he debuted in the WWF as Mankind. As for Bret "Hitman" Hart, his high morals would never allow him to wrestle for an organisation that promoted violence in such a positive light.
7. Which WWE Superstar was the last man to hold the ECW Heavyweight Championship?

Answer: Rhyno

Terry "Rhyno" Gerin was the last man to hold the ECW Heavyweight Championship, and still has the belt at home. Other stars to have held the ECW Championship include Tazz, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Mike Awesome, and Justin Credible.
8. True of False? When Jerry Lynn won the ECW Television Title, he was never defeated for the belt.

Answer: False

It was Rob Van Dam who was never defeated for the title. RVD was one of the first two men, along with Tommy Dreamer, to invade the WWF as part of the ECW team. They were soon joined by Raven, Rhyno, Tazz, Justin Credible and The Dudley Boyz and eventually the entire WCW stable.
9. Which of these men wrestled on "Raw" as the ECW Champion?

Answer: Tazz

When Mike Awesome signed for WCW, he was still the ECW Champion. Seeing as how Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon were on good terms, ECW borrowed Tazz to win the title from Awesome. The following week on "Raw," Tazz faced WWF Champion Triple H, and was promptly squashed, despite the best efforts of Tazz' ECW buddy, Tommy Dreamer.
10. Which former ECW Superstar was the first man to capture a title during The Invasion?

Answer: Mike Awesome

Awesome attacked Hardcore Champion Rhyno at Madison Square Garden, powerbombing him onto a ladder to capture the title, that was up for grabs 24/7.
