2. Who is the only person who knows the Spirit's secret identity?

Ebony White was an African-American driver whose appearance was reminiscent of the old blackface shows. Eisner was criticized for this, although he also added some non-stereotypical African-American characters into his comic.
5. Where is the Spirit's hideout?

Answer: Under Wildwood Cemetery

When he was thought dead, Denny Colt was buried in Wildwood Cemetery, and chose to stay there as the Spirit. It's very handy, considering that Denny is thought dead by the world at large.
6. In his first adventure, which villain did the Spirit defeat?

Answer: Dr. Cobra

With a name like Doctor Cobra, it is probably required that you be a villain! Cobra tackled detective Denny Colt, causing him to fire blindly and be splashed with a strange liquid that put him in a state of suspended animation.
7. What was the color of The Spirit's outfit?

Answer: Blue

As the Spirit, Denny Colt wore a blue domino mask, blue fedora and a blue suit. It was largely the same outfit that Denny wore on his first appearance in 1940.
8. For how long did the original Spirit comic strip run?

Answer: Twelve years

The Spirit helped eradicate crime in Central City from 1940 to 1952. Will Eisner worked on "The Spirit" nearly that entire time, taking time off from 1942 to 1945 to serve in World War Two.
9. When DC Comics began publishing another "Spirit" series in 2007, who originally penned the worthy tome?

Answer: Darwyn Cooke

Darwyn Cooke previously worked in advertising before returning to comics. He did a run writing for DC's "Catwoman" and also worked on Marvel's series "Wolverine/Doop".
10. Which of these characters have NOT been inspired in part by the Spirit?

Answer: Tom Strong

While Will Eisner is considered somewhat of a grand old man of comic books, Alan Moore's Tom Strong is not obviously influenced by the Spirit. The Question and Rorschach both share the Spirit's gritty storytelling and costume concept, while Greyshirt mimed Eisner's storytelling technique as used for the Spirit.
