Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As "No Mercy" began, The Undertaker was sitting in the locker room, thinking, then Kane walked in and sat next to his brother. What did Kane ask The Undertaker?

Answer: "So, how was your week?"

As "No Mercy" began, The Undertaker, looking forlorn, was sitting in the locker room, obviously distracted. Then Kane, also distracted, walked in and sat next to him. The two brothers were silent for a bit, then Kane asked, "So, how was your week?". This was the first time since Kane was hurt back in April 2002, that the two brothers were together in the same arena.
2. Who did the WWE Tag Team Champions, Christian and Chris Jericho, have a match against in defense of their titles?

Answer: Booker T and Goldust

The WWE Tag Team Champions, Christian and Chris Jericho, faced off against Booker T and Goldust in a match for the titles. The four men fought great, and Goldust and Booker gave a great performance. Unfortunately, Jericho pinned Booker and pinned him for the win.
3. During Christian's and Chris Jericho's match, the referee became distracted by an unusual occurrence. What was the unusual occurrence?

Answer: The middle rope snapped

Right at the end of the match, Jericho ran to the ropes and landed his feet on the second rope, in an attempt to execute the "Lionsault." But as he did so, the rope snapped at the second turnbuckle and the rope floundered. Jericho was unable to perform his finishing move.
4. Who did Funaki interview backstage?

Answer: Al Wilson

While waiting for the ring to be repaired, we were entertained by Funaki interviewing Torrie's father, Al Wilson. Funaki asked Al why he had his clothes on when he was in the shower with Dawn Marie the previous week. Mr. Wilson replied, "I did not have sexual relations with that girl", and obvious reference to President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. Upon closing the interview, Funaki said, "This is Funaki. Smackdown's number one annoucer."
5. Who did the beautiful Torrie Wilson have a Grudge Match against?

Answer: Dawn Marie

Torrie Wilson faced off against Dawn Marie. The two lovely ladies fought brilliantly, and with tons of aggression. But at the end, Torrie showed Dawn who the true winner was.
6. Who did Rob Van Dam have a match against?

Answer: Ric Flair

In a match that was given to RVD the previous Monday by "Raw" general manager, Eric Bischoff, RVD faced off against "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in an exciting match. Throughout the match, Flair continuously showed why he was the "dirtiest player in the game", but unfortunately, Flair was assaulted by Van Dam's "Five Star Frog Splash," and failed to recover.
7. Who threatened Eric Bischoff backstage?

Answer: Big Show

The Big Show was talking to Stephanie McMahon backstage about "Raw" business, when Eric Bischoff came upon them. He demanded to know what they were discussing, and since Stephanie didn't want to get involved, she removed herself from the conversation. Alone with Big Show, Bischoff blew up at him and demanded to know what they were talking about. Show said that he was tired of being unappreciated, and not appearing on Pay Per Views or headlining main events. Bischoff demanded to know who Show thought he was to be talking to the general manager like that. Without notice, Show grabbed Bischoff by the throat and said that if Bischoff didn't use his talent soon, that he would snap his neck like a twig.

When Show left him, Bischoff was visibly shaken.
8. Who did WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Jamie Noble, have a match against in defense of his title?

Answer: Tajiri

WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Jamie Noble, who was accompanied to the ring by Nidia, faced off against Tajiri in a Title Match. Tajiri gave Noble almost everything he was made of, and he would have won had Nidia not interfered and helped Noble on top of him.
9. Who did WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H, have a Winner Takes All Match against in defense of his title?

Answer: Kane

WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H, faced off against the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Kane, The Big Red Machine, in a Winner Takes All Match, with whoever winning retiring the Intercontinental title. Triple H was having a hard time keeping in tune with Kane, who is extremely powerful, and for a while it looked like Kane had this match sewn up.

But when Ric Flair ran down to ringside and kept interfering, Kane, in his attempt to get at Flair pushed the referee aside. Kane then assaulted Flair.

When Flair kept interfering, The Hurricane ran down to ringside on behalf of Kane and he and Flair went at it. The Hurricane fought off Flair and even knocked him out, then the poor little guy was given the "Pedigree" by Triple H and was knocked unconscious. Back inside the ring, Kane and Triple H were battling fiercely, when all of a sudden Kane went to give Helmsley a boot to the face but Helmsley ducked out of the way.

The boot was given to the referee who knocked unconscious. Then Flair interfered in the match again, but this time bringing a sledgehammer. Kane confiscated it and gave Flair the "Chokeslam", and was about to use it on Triple H.

But the sly Helmsley gave Kane a low blow. As Kane was recovering and was about to give Triple H the "Tombstone Piledriver," Triple H hit him in the abdomen with the hammer, hurting him. Then Triple H hit Kane with the "Pedigree," but before he pinned him he woke the referee up and pinned Kane. What the referee didn't see was that Kane, right before the count of three, got his left shoulder up. But because the referee didn't see it, he awarded the match to Helmsley. Any half decent referee, seeing Ric Flair, a sledgehammer, and a steel chair in the middle of the ring, would have had the count dismissed and the match continued. I wholeheartedly believe that, besides Kane getting royally ripped off, that the WWE better invest in new referees.
10. Who won the finals of the WWE Tag Team Title Tournament?

Answer: Benoit and Angle

The finals of the WWE Tag Team Title Tournament pitted "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle against Edge and Rey Mysterio. The four men battled hard, and at one point it looked like the team of Edge and Mysterio were going to win, but the tables turned when Angle forced Edge to tap out to the "Ankle Lock."
11. Who did Stephanie McMahon call into her office and talk to about the accusations floating around?

Answer: Tracy

Stephanie called Tracy into her office and had a woman to woman talk with her. Stephanie had Tracy admit that she lied about sleeping with Taker ten days prior, and she also had Tracy admit that she still cared for him. Tracy said that somehow, someway, she would get Taker back. Unbeknownst to Tracy, Taker heard it all, and he was not pleased.

He called her a name that really means a female dog in heat.
12. Who hosted "No Mercy" at The World in New York City's Time Square?

Answer: Rikishi

Rikishi hosted "No Mercy" at The World in New York City's Time Square. When asked his opinion about who was going to win The Hell in The Cell Match between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, Rikishi said that going from past experience, he was banking on The Deadman.
13. Who did WWE Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, have a match against in defense of her title?

Answer: Victoria

WWE Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, faced off against Victoria in a Title Match. Trish, the favorite going into the match, had a tough battle against the crazed Victoria. However, Trish defeated Victoria with a roll-up pin and retained the title. After the match, Victoria hit Trish with a nasty kick to her lower jaw, flooring the blonde beauty.
14. Who did WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, have a Hell in The Cell Match against?

Answer: The Undertaker

WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, who was, as usual, accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman, faced off against The Undertaker in a Hell in The Cell Match. Taker came out fighting, and showed why this was his kind of match.
15. During the Hell in The Cell Match, which weapon did Brock Lesnar's opponent lose during the match?

Answer: Cast

The Hell in The Cell Match was brutal bloodbath, with Lesnar's blood flowing first. Through the whole match, Heyman could be heard shouting, "No! Not this way!" and "We're losing Brock!". Taker had control of the match from the beginning, but when Taker went to kick Lesnar into the cell, Lesnar sidestepped him and Taker crashed into the cell.

This is when Lesnar took control. Then Lesnar was given a belt by Heyman and together, they strapped it on Taker's broken right hand. Then Lesnar retrieved a chair and began pounding away at Taker's bloodied hand, until finally the belt broke in half. Lesnar then went for the cast and began removing it, finally succeeding. Taker tried to fight back by going for the steel steps, but Lesnar stopped him, and picking up the steps clocked him square in the forehead with them.

However, Lesnar made a huge error, and instead of hitting Taker with the flat of the steps, he hit him with the point. The point of the steps was driven into the Taker's forehead, above his left eye. Blood, real blood, began flowing, and one could clearly see the hole the steps left in The Deadman's head.

In fact, Tazz and Michael Cole commented on how badly injured Taker really was. Although he was badly injured, Taker continued to fight until the end. He was in the midst of giving Lesnar the "Tombstone Piledriver," in an attempt to pin Lesnar and win the title, but Lesnar countered and hit Taker with the "F5." Taker landed very awkwardly, and was pinned for the win. This was the first time, since Kane made his debut by interfering in the Hell in The Cell Match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in 1997, that The Undertaker lost. However, it is my opinion, that the "F5" should be banned until it is perfected. All finishing moves like "The Last Ride," "The Pedigree," "The Tombstone Piledriver," "The Chokeslam," "The Ankle Lock," "The Crippler Crossface", and even "The Stone Cold Stunner," have one thing in common: the recipients of these finishing moves all land the same exact way every time, unlike the "F5" where they land any way that Lesnar throws them. It is a dangerous finishing move, and one day could really do some damage. It is in my opinion that Lesnar, for using the steel steps the wrong way, should be suspended indefinitely or until he learns all of the choreography of the WWE.
