Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Since the WWE referees were on strike due to unfair treatment, replacement referees referred to as "scabs" were named to referee the matches. In the first match, a man by the name of Steve Lombardi was the referee. What was Lombardi's wrestling name?

Answer: The Brooklyn Brawler

Steve Lombardi was best known as the Brooklyn Brawler and probably was one of the most well-known jobbers in the wrestling business. A "jobber" was a wrestler whose main purpose was to lose the matches that they were in. Val Venis defeated Steve Blackman after he delivered a "Money Shot".

After the match, Blackman assaulted Venis with a kendo stick which resulted in Venis needing emergency medical treatment.
2. Mark Henry came down to the ring and announced that he would not be able to defend his WWE European Championship because he was suffering from what medical condition?

Answer: A brain aneurysm

Mark claimed that he had gotten a brain aneurysm or "brainurism" as he called it from being slapped by Lillian Garcia after he tried to hit on her. His opponent D'Lo Brown was not buying it and promptly started their match. Brown defeated Henry after hitting the "Lo Down" to become the new WWE European Champion.
3. Who came down to the ring and hit Jeff Jarrett with a guitar to cost him his match against Chyna?

Answer: Debra

Jeff Jarrett had made it a habit of degrading women ever since he found out that he had to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Chyna. He even turned against his long-time manager Debra after he blamed her for being pinned by Stephanie McMahon during a Mixed Tag Team Match on "Raw is War".

He went so far as fire her and put her in his "Figure Four Leg Lock". Toward the end of the match, the referee Harvey Whippleman was knocked out and Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young came down to ringside.

They were disposed of by Jarrett. As he was about to put Chyna in the "Figure Four Leg Lock", Debra came down to the ring and hit Jarrett across the head with a guitar. Chyna was able to get the pinfall but the decision was overturned when another referee Tom Prichard informed Whippleman of Debra's interference. Jacqueline and Ivory were also women that Jarrett humiliated but they did not get involved in the match.
4. What was written on Stevie Richards' chest when he interfered in the match between The Dudley Boyz and The Acolytes?

Answer: UPN

Stevie Richards had a habit of impersonating various wrestlers such as Chris Jericho, Chyna and The Dudley Boyz. On this night, he chose to impersonate The Acolytes. Instead of having the symbols that The Acolytes usually had on their chests, Stevie had the letters "UPN". UPN was short for the now defunct Universal Paramount Network, the television network that WWE "Smackdown" aired on in the United States from 1999-2006. Stevie interfered in the match and hit the "Stevie Kick" on D-Von Dudley to cost them the match.

The Acolytes appreciated Stevie's help and rewarded him with a "Double Power bomb".
5. Which WWE Diva interfered in the Hardcore Match for the WWE Women's Championship between Luna and Ivory?

Answer: Tori

Tori attacked Ivory with a pole but that still did not stop Ivory from defeating Luna to retain her WWE Women's Championship. Ivory would later interrupt an interview being conducted with Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. The two were still reeling from Jeff Jarrett assaulting them earlier in the night. Ivory gloated about her win which got her a beating from Mae and Moolah.
6. Who were the WWE Tag Team Champions going into "Unforgiven"?

Answer: New Age Outlaws

The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) reunited on September 23rd 1999 on the "Smackdown" before "Unforgiven" 1999. They defeated The Rock n' Sock Connection (The Rock and Mankind) to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. The Outlaws retained the WWE Tag Team Championship after The New Brood (The Hardy Boyz and Gangrel) attacked Edge and Christian.
7. Which breed of dog was used for the Kennel From Hell Match?

Answer: Rottweiler

Al Snow was the mastermind behind the now infamous Kennel From Hell Match. The ring was surrounded by a cage, the one used for a Cage Match. On top of that was the Hell in the Cell structure. In between the ring and the Hell in a Cell were about six Rottweilers, these dogs according to Snow were starved to make them more vicious. For safety reasons, these dogs were leashed and handlers were present.

The winner had to escape the cage and get passed the dogs to exit the cell. The motivation for Snow to have this match was to avenge the death of Snow's pet Chihuahua "Pepper". "Pepper" was kidnapped by Bossman in an attempt to get Snow's WWE Hardcore Championship.

He would later cook the dog and feed him to Snow. Snow defeated Bossman in the match and retained the WWE Hardcore Championship.

In the process, he also got justice for "Pepper".
8. Chris Jericho had a match against X-Pac. X-Pac was not Jericho's original opponent. Who was Jericho suppose to face?

Answer: Ken Shamrock

Chris Jericho was supposed to face Ken Shamrock, whom he had a long standing rivalry with since Jericho debuted. It was announced on "WWE Sunday Night Heat" that Shamrock was injured in the Cage Match that he had against Jericho on "WWE Smackdown". X-Pac was chosen to face Jericho as Shamrock's replacement. Shamrock would never return to WWE as he decided to resume his Mixed Martial Arts career. X-Pac defeated Jericho by disqualification when Jericho's bodyguard Curtis Hughes punched the referee. Jericho and Hughes began to assault X-Pac but luckily for him, Road Dogg came to the rescue.
9. British Bulldog was the replacement for Vince McMahon for the Six Pack Challenge Match for the WWE Championship.

Answer: False

Vince McMahon was the WWE Champion but he relinquished the championship due to his responsibilities as WWE Chairman. Originally, it was suppose to be Triple H, The Rock, Mankind, Kane, Big Show and The Undertaker competing in the match but The Undertaker walked out of the company after disobeying Vince McMahon.

The British Bulldog went to Vince and asked him to fulfill the promise that he made to him of a WWE Championship Match. Vince agreed and gave Bulldog Undertaker's spot in the match.
10. Who was originally supposed to start the Six Pack Challenge Match?

Answer: Triple H and The British Bulldog

It was announced throughout the night that Vince McMahon had changed the starters for the Six Pack Challenge Match. It was originally suppose to be Triple H and British Bulldog. On "Smackdown" however, Triple H had formed an alliance with Bulldog to ensure that Triple H would be in the Six Pack Challenge Match. Triple H had to win three of the five specialty matches he was scheduled to be in by Vince McMahon to be entered into the match at "Unforgiven". Coincidentally, most of his opponents were the men in the Six Pack Challenge Match. Triple H had won two matches but also lost two matches.

His final opponent was The Rock, who he had to face in a Brahma Bull Strap Match with British Bulldog as the guest referee. As The Rock was about to defeat Triple H, Bulldog attacked him and cost him the match. McMahon gave The Rock a chance for revenge by having him start the match with Bulldog. Triple H won the Six Pack Challenge Match to regain his WWE Championship by pinning The Rock after hitting a "Pedigree" but not before Bulldog had hit The Rock with a steel chair. Ironically, it was the special guest enforcer who made the count. That man was Stone Cold Steve Austin, the man who Triple H had injured with a sledgehammer at "Summerslam" the month prior.
