Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The "Survivor Series" used to be shown on Thanksgiving Night for the first few years of its existence. Which year was the first to be shown the day before Thanksgiving?

Answer: 1991

"Survivor Series" had its first 3 years on Thanksgiving night before moving to the night before. In 1995 it began showing on Sunday nights.
2. The 1988 version of the "Survivor Series" had a 20 Man Tag Team Match. That consisted of 5 Tag Teams on each team. Which team was the last to be eliminated?

Answer: Conquistadors

Powers of Pain were the survivors of this match. This match featured tag teams such as The Rockers, Brain Busters, Young Stallions and the British Bulldogs. The Powers of Pain gained a win and a new manager. Mr. Fuji turned on Demolition to be with Powers of Pain. This added more heat to their already existing feud. The feud between these two teams ended at the fifth "Wrestlemania".
3. Andre the Giant eliminated Jake Roberts at the 1988 "Survivor Series".

Answer: False

Andre played a huge role in Jake's elimination. Jake Roberts was the last on his team to get eliminated. The opposite side had Andre, Dino Bravo and Curt Henning. Andre got himself disqualified by choking Jake and not releasing the choke. He choked Jake and even began to bite Jake's throat.

After Andre left Henning didn't have to do anything but pin Jake Roberts. That left Henning and Bravo as the soul survivors thanks to Andre.
4. Hulk Hogan is undefeated at "Survivor Series"

Answer: False

Hulk Hogan was counted out at the first annual "Survivor Series". He won the following two years. He then lost to Undertaker in 1991.
5. The 1989 edition of "Survivor Series" had Bobby Heenan in the main event. Who eliminated him?

Answer: Ultimate Warrior

Bobby Heenan was substituting for Tully Blanchard. Heenan was able to pin Marty Jannetty in the match. Unfortunatley for Heenan, he was the last guy to be eliminated. He was stuck with the Warrior and lost after a flying tackle.
6. Who danced in the ring with the Gobbledy Gooker at the 1990 "Survivor Series"?

Answer: Mean Gene Okerlund

Weeks prior to this event, WWE hyped the hatching of a giant egg. There was speculation as to what would pop out of there. Some people thought it might be balloons, dinosaur, or merchandise. Instead we got the Gobbledy Gooker which was a guy dressed in a turkey costume. The crowd didn't like it much but got in to it when Mean Gene and him were dancing in the ring.
7. Who won the opening match at the 1990 "Survivor Series"?

Answer: Ultimate Warrior

Ultimate Warrior first eliminated Ax from Demolition. The last two members of Demolition and Legion of Doom got disqualified for brawling. Mr. Perfect then eliminated Texas Tornado. Warrior then won the match for his team and went on to the final match of the evening.
8. The first time a title was on the line at "Survivor Series" was at the 1992 edition.

Answer: False

The first time a title was on the line was at the 1991 edition. It marked the first title reign of The Undertaker. He pinned Hulk Hogan after "Tombstoning" him onto a chair. Ric Flair assisted Undertaker in winning. Undertaker would lose the belt less than a week later to Hogan.
9. The 1992 edition of "Survivor Series" had a Tag Team Match between Macho Man and Mr. Perfect taking on Razor Ramon and Ric Flair. Who was supposed to be Macho Man's partner?

Answer: Ultimate Warrior

Ultimate Warrior had been released from WWE a few weeks after he was announced to main event this Pay Per View. Macho Man then picked Mr. Perfect who was Ric Flair's manager at the time. Macho Man and Perfect won the match as a team. A few months later Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair had a Career Ending Match in which Perfect won.
10. Which title was on the line at the 1993 edition of "Survivor Series"?

Answer: Smokey Mountain Tag Team Championship

This was the first time an outside company's title was defended on a WWE event. It was between Rock and Roll Express and Heavenly Bodies. This was a very underrated match in my opinion. It was there as a time filler but they had a very good match. Heavenly Bodies won the belts from Rock and Roll Express.
