Cedric Diggory was a student that attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was a member of Hufflepuff, and also the captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. He was most known for being in the Triwizard Tournament that took place in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Cedric was one of four people chosen to compete in the event. In the Triwizard Tournament the competitors are put through different tasks and the winner gets money and a trophy. Cedric made it all the way to the end of the tournament. The final stage consisted of a maze, where the winner was the first person to find the Triwizard Cup. He and Harry Potter both decided to grab the trophy at the same time, to be co-winners. The trophy turned out to be a portkey, that transported them to a nearby graveyard. There, in the graveyard, was Peter Pettigrew who killed Cedric with the killing curse. Harry then fought off Voldemort, who just appeared after the death of Cedric. Harry eventually escaped by means of the same portkey. The year ending Leaving Feast at Hogwarts was dedicated to Cedric.
