Elizabeth and Emma were sisters, and Barb was Tara Starr's mom. In the beginning of the book, Elizabeth opens by saying that if she didn't like Tara so much, she would have considered her as her ex-best friend. She also fills Tara in on the kids at their school.

2. Where did Elizabeth's grandfather live?

Answer: Vero Beach Florida

On the top of the postcard that Elizabeth sends Tara Starr it says "Greetings From Vero Beach" And, in her message, she says that they all went to Florida for three days.

3. What time did Elizabeth say her father had been getting home?

Answer: anytime after 11:00 pm

She says "The thing I really wanted to tell you concerns my dad. He hasn't been home before 11:00 pm for a week. And mom won't talk about it. She gets that leave-me-alone-I-can't-talk-about-it look. I really have so much to tell you, but now I'm just too plain tired.

Yep, his company was downsized. His company downsized 40 of their top executives.

He worked for Data-Pro for 17 years before his company had to downsize. He made a quarter of a million dollars a year.

7. What did Tara want to name the new baby when she was mad at her parents?

They were 17 when they had Tara. Barb tells us that in one of her notes to Elizabeth, and she says that they feel much more qualified to be parents at 29 then they did at 17.

She had a purple streak in her hair....but at the VERY END of the book, it was hot pink.
