Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first person that Teen Power figured out was receiving poison pen letters?

Answer: Mrs Flower

The Teen Power gang consists of Liz, Sunny, Richelle, Elmo, Tom, and Nick. They found out about Mrs Flower when she came to the Pen newspaper office to yell at Zim (Elmo's dad) about the letter which was signed 'the Eye'.
2. Finish this quote from Mrs Drisk-Haskell: 'But, unfortunately, I had to - ah - '.

Answer: let her go

She says this to the Teen Power about Mrs Flower; she has fired her as the cleaning lady because a ring has gone missing and she suspects Mrs Flower of having stolen it.(She didn't, though.)
3. Whose mother worked at the bank which was robbed in Raven Hill?

Answer: Liz'

Raven Hill is the town in which they live. Sunny's mother is a doctor.
4. Ms Adair teaches what subject at Raven Hill High?

Answer: English

We know this because in English they had to write a media essay, and Ms Adair got angry at a student who had brought the Pen in to write about. It turned out she was also angry because she too was receiving poison pen letters signed 'the Eye' (which was a gossip column in the Pen newspaper).
5. Who, in Elmo's words, is a 'born gossip'?

Answer: Carol Baxter

Carol is gossiping about Ms Adair, saying stuff like she is having a nervous breakdown. Walter and Debbie are both listening to her. Elmo considers Richelle to be more self-absorbed.
6. Who was the last to receive a poison pen letter?

Answer: Richelle

She received one shortly after her first visit to the optometrist (who she was really nervous to visit because she thought that if she had to get reading glasses then she would be really ugly).
7. Mrs Flower wore what type of glasses?

Answer: Cats-eye glasses

Ms Adair wore the tortoiseshell frames, Sam Frean the butcher had reading glasses, and Mrs Drisk-Haskell used contact lenses. Mr Richardson needed really thick glasses, and Richelle didn't end up needing reading glasses. There were six victims total.
8. Who said 'Even Elmo's probably got something to hide'?

Answer: Sunny

She says this when the gang is discussing secrets and vague threats. Richelle admits she once lost her mum's jade ring, and Tom says 'I've got hundreds of secrets'.
9. Who wrote the poison pen letters signed 'the Eye'?

Answer: Annette Nudsworth

Annette was the receptionist for Ms Salamandi (an optometrist). She cut the letters out of the newspapers and sent them to over-confident customers who ignored her. She unknowingly unmasked a real criminal in Mr Richardson (who was the manager at the bank that got robbed, and had helped from the inside).
10. Who wrote the column 'The Eye'?

Answer: Elmo

He wrote them so his dad's newspaper could become more popular. It was also 'living history' - Molly Beer ('old Molly') used to write the column 'The Eye' back in Elmo Zimmer I's time (Elmo's grandfather who used to run The Pen). As Elmo writes: 'Seeing that I'm the Eye myself... and I think this is one secret I intend to keep.' Hope you enjoyed this quiz!
