Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Redwall", the original book, was published in what year?

Answer: 1986

DYK?(Did You Know): Brian Jacques created Redwall for a school for the blind, and never thought it would have a sequel, much less 14 others!
2. Gonff, mentioned in "Mossflower" and legendary mousethief, is based on a person Brian Jacques, the author, has met.

Answer: False

A little tricky! Gonff is based on Mr. Jacques' childhood in Liverpool, England, but he can't really meet himself.
3. Who is the abbot/abbess in the beginning of "Mattimeo"?

Answer: Abbot Mordalfus

Abbot Methuselah was in "Redwall", Dandin was a Abbey Warrior--not a abbot, and the only book that doesn't have one is "Marlfox".
4. Who was Storm Gullwhacker really("Mariel of Redwall")?

Answer: Mariel

Self-proclaimed whacker of all gulls, Mariel had forgotten her past, but it soon caught up with her.
5. What is the name of the Badger Lord during the book, "Salamandastron"?

Answer: Urthstripe

Urthwyte is the Urthstripe's brother, and Urthstar and Urthgirth are from my imagination.
6. Laterose and Martin, sometime unwritten, marry(Laterose is in "Martin the Warrior").

Answer: False

Laterose dies before they can marry, and heart-broken Martin stumbles upon Redwall Abbey.
7. What is Storm Gullwacker's father's name(told in "The Bellmaker")?

Answer: Joseph

Joey? I hope you didn't chose that one...Joseph the Bellmaker follows his daughter's trail, though she is many days ahead.
8. In the "Outcast of Redwall", why was Veil cast out?

Answer: He tried to poison someone

Confusing, I think. They all could be right, but then only one can. Naughty Veil, poisoning always backfires.
9. How many pearls are there in "The Pearls Of Lutra"?

Answer: 6

Ublaz Mad Eyes and the pearls don't mix well...
10. Who is the Abbey Warrior when "The Long Patrol" takes place?

Answer: Arven

Not one of the most well-known characters, Arven is the correct answer. Martin was only at the Abbey for a few seasons and Dandin was already past his prime.
11. How many Marfoxes were there at the beginning of the book, "Marlfox"?

Answer: 8

There were only seven siblings, but the mother was still alive, making it eight.
12. This name of the ship in between the tall rocks in the second book of "Legend of Luke" was Halfship.

Answer: False

Though Halfship would make sense, they slurred it a bit and called it Arfship.
13. In the prologue of "Lord Brocktree", who is the badger lord?

Answer: Russano the Wise

14. In "The Taggerung", Tagg's real name was Nimbalo.

Answer: No

Nimbalo was the name of the mouse who befriended him. Tagg's real name was Deyna.
15. Trissica is Triss' full name in the book "Triss".

Answer: No

Tricky question! Her real name was Trisscar--no 'i' in the middle and a 'r' at the end. Loyal Triss finds out her real name, though no one ever calls her that, except the one who tells her(I forget his name...).
