2. All right, what do the Borrowers live in after their escape in "The Borrowers"?

Answer: A shoe

They find a shoe, a gentleman's boot they said, and live in there right after their escape. They can't find any human "bean" house to live in so the boot is the best place for them now.
3. They soon meet a boy named Spiller who is also a Borrower. What does he often do for protection?

Answer: Camouflages

He camouflages for protection. He hears every noise and quickly blends in to his surroundings as if he were nothing but a part of a tree or bush.
4. Why is Arrietty glad of living outdoors?

She has always wanted to live outside. She has always wondered how life would be like living out there and now she knows and is happy with it.
5. What do the Borrowers find missing that belongs to them?

Answer: A hat-pin

They haven't seen their hat-pin for a while after their move. They can't find it which is very strange. They need it for their survival.
6. What does Spiller try to give as a gift to Arrietty?

Answer: A cricket

Spiller offers to give a cricket to Arrietty to sing for them. She takes him to see her mother, Homily, and Homily immediately tells him to get the cricket out. He leaves the cricket, leaving them to themselves.
7. Spiller once saved Arrietty's life.

Answer: True

Spiller saves Arrietty's life when she is about to be spotted by a human. He puts her on a raft he made and she sets off down the river. Thus she was never seen by a human at that point in time.
8. Who took the item the Borrowers owned and earlier found missing?

Answer: Spiller

Arrietty never took it. Spiller was the one who took it, thinking it would be helpful to him. The Borrowers allow him to keep it since he has been kind enough to save Arrietty.
9. Who owns the item the Borrowers chose for their home?

Answer: Mild Eye

Mild Eye turns out to be the owner of the boot. He one day finds it while the Borrowers are sleeping there and, without knowing that they were there, takes it home. Arrietty is able to leave the boot right after it's taken to his home. Once he is about to insert his foot there, he feels something strange in the boot. Suddenly he sees Arrietty's parents run off to a hidden and protected corner.

He decides to capture them and sell them as if they were animals.
10. Who saves the Borrowers?

Answer: Spiller and Tom Goodenough

Spiller meets the human boy, Tom Goodenough, and they both team up to save the Borrowers. Tom Goodenough lets them live in a place where other Borrowers live in his house, right above the fireplace. When the Borrowers arrive there, they see some long-lost relatives of theirs living there and are so happy to see them. The story ends that Arrietty and Tom Goodenough become friends.
