Mrs. Belden was making lemon pie when Trixie burst into the kitchen and nearly knocked it out of her hands. She then put the pie, piled high with golden meringue, out of the way in the pantry.
2. How long had the Bob-Whites been invited to the beach for?

Answer: 10 days

The Wheelers rented a house at Cobbett's Island for lots of weekend during the summer, so Mr. Wheeler would be able to go deep-sea fishing, but then he found out that he had to go to Brazil on a business trip. Mrs. Wheeler was to go with him, and they invited the Bob-Whites to go to the beach instead of them, for ten days.

To work out which Bob-Whites would go with Peter or Cap, Trixie held a pebble and a scallop shell, one in each hand. The first three people to pick the shell would go with Peter, and the others with Cap. It fell to Trixie, Mart and Di to go in the Star Fire with Peter, and the others with Cap.
8. What was the 'black buoy' really on the chart?

Answer: An old smokehouse

The black buoy was an old smokehouse. At first the Bob-Whites weren't sure whether it was it or not, but Trixie pointed out "A smokehouse- smoke, soot, black, BLACK BUOY!"
9. What was the name of the young boy who found the letter on a table, copied the chart and nearly got away with the money if Trixie hadn't tricked him?

Answer: Slim Novarski

When he was introducing himself to the Bob-Whites he mentions that people around Cobbett's Island call him Slim- Slim Novarski.

Answer: To Ethel and Ed

As soon as they met Ethel, they knew that they needed to find the money for her and her son Ed. Ed needed the money so he could go to college and get a medical degree. After they found the money, the Bob-Whites called up Ethel, and she invited them to the beach. They waited until after lunch to give them the money.
