One shall be lost in the land without rain
The bane of Olympus shows the trail

And one shall perish by parent's hand"

At first, it appeared one of the Hunters was lost in the "land without rain"; where was that place assumed to be?

"A half-blood of the eldest gods
Shall reach sixteen against all odds
And see the world in endless sleep
The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap
A single choice shall end his days

quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief", who is the Oracle?

Answer: A mummy who has the spirit of Delphi inside her.

The mummy lives in the attic of "The Big House" in Camp Half-Blood.
2. In "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief", Percy meets the Oracle for the first time and it speaks this prophecy: "You shall go west, and face the god who has turned You shall find what was stolen, and see it safely returned. You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend And you shall fail to save what matters most, in the end." Zeus' lightning bolt was not the only thing that was stolen; the second line of the prophecy also referred to which of these magical items?

Answer: Hades' helm of darkness

Zeus thought Poseidon took his lightning bolt. Hades thought Zeus/Poseidon took his helm of darkness. Luke actually stole both and gave them to Ares, but Percy managed to return the items to their owners before a war between the gods started.
3. In "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters", the Oracle told this prophecy: "You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone, You shall find what you seek and make it your own, But despair for your life entombed within stone, And fail without friends, to fly home alone" The prophecy was not spoken to Percy; who was it spoken to?

Answer: Clarisse

Clarisse thought the prophecy meant she would fail to find the Golden Fleece, but the last line meant she would have failed had it not been for her friends, and she flew home alone so her friends could distract Kronos.
4. The Oracle spoke a prophecy in "Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse"; the prophecy went as follows: "Five shall go west to the goddess in chains One shall be lost in the land without rain The bane of Olympus shows the trail Campers and Hunters combined prevail The Titan's curse one must withstand And one shall perish by parent's hand" At first, it appeared one of the Hunters was lost in the "land without rain"; where was that place assumed to be?

Answer: Camp Half-Blood

One of the campers played a dangerous prank on a Hunter that meant she could not go on the quest. Since Camp Half-Blood only rains when the camp leader wants it to, the prophecy appeared to refer to that Hunter. It actually referred to Bianca, who died in a desert.
5. In "Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth", the Oracle's prophecy went like this: "You shall delve in the darkness of the endless maze The dead, the traitor and the lost one raise You shall rise of fall by ghost king's hand The child of Athena's final stand Destroy with a hero's final breath And lose a love to worse than death" Which of these lines did Annabeth not tell the rest of the camp about at first?

Answer: "And lose a love to worse than death"

The only people who knew the last line were Percy and Annabeth, as once the quest is over Annabeth tells him the line. The love the last line was referring to was Luke. The hero who has his final breath and faces his final stand was Daedalus. "The dead" could have referred to any person Nico raised, "the traitor" was Ethan Nakamura and "the lost one" was Pan.
6. In "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian", we find out the Great Prophecy, a prophecy the Oracle spoke a long time ago. It goes like this: "A half-blood of the eldest gods Shall reach sixteen against all odds And see the world in endless sleep The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap A single choice shall end his days Olympus to preserve or raze" Two words Percy read incorrectly because he was dyslexic; which two?

Answer: gods and preserve

Percy thought read "gods" as "dogs" and "preserve" as "pursue" until Annabeth corrected him. Percy can read better when he's not nervous, so he made a few mistakes when he found the prophecy that was supposed to predict his death. Connor Stoll thought "raze" was "raise" when he heard Percy read the prophecy.
7. In "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian", we learn the Oracle had a curse put on it by which of these gods?

Answer: Hades

Hades cursed the Oracle so it could not have another living host until Hades and his children were accepted by Olympus and other demigods. This meant that when the Oracle died, its spirit was left in the mummy.
8. In "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian", Rachel told Percy Jackson he wasn't the hero of the Great Prophecy. The Great Prophecy goes like this: "A half-blood of the eldest gods Shall reach sixteen against all odds And see the world in endless sleep The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap A single choice shall end his days Olympus to preserve or raze" This meant it wasn't Percy's soul that "cursed blade shall reap"; whose soul was reaped by a cursed blade?

Answer: Luke

The cursed blade was Annabeth's knife. Luke was the hero of the prophecy, although he started the book as an enemy. Kronos was controlling his body but he managed to stab himself, making Kronos' body fade into the air and saving Olympus.
9. At the end of "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian", a new Oracle is chosen. Which mortal was chosen?

Answer: Rachel Elizabeth Dare

Although Sally Jackson (Percy's mum) could see through the Mist, Rachel became the new Oracle.
10. At the end of "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian", the new Oracle speaks the second Great Prophecy. It goes like this: "Seven half-bloods shall answer the call To storm or fire, ___ must fall An oath to keep with a final breath, And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death" Fill in the blanks.

Answer: The world

This ends the "Percy Jackson" series but marks the beginning of "Heroes of Olympus".
