Shikoku encompasses four old provinces, Awa, Iyo, Sanuki and Tosa.
2. The Japanese capital, Tokyo, is one of the largest metropolises in the world. In which decade did the population hit ten million people?

Answer: 1960s

In 1960 Tokyo's population was approximately 9,680,000. By 1965 the population had risen to about 10,870,000. With an area of 2,188 sq km (845 sq miles), Tokyo has an amazing population density of close to 6,000 per sq kilometre.
